Amin, has been the best overall and taking my experience to a whole another level, upgrading our room to help accommodate me and my family and making sure medical had everything covered and there were no issues. Also going above his call and making sure we were taken care of emotional and mentally reassuring us it's like " our 2nd home " and we okay to stay as long as we need, in my eyes it's like he is a angel sent to us in disguise, a blessing for sure. I also want to add Olga to this review she took the time to accommodate and acknowledged us in our culture and asked about our language and asked how to speak our language then continues to greet us in our language she's beyond phenomenon in my eyes when someone takes time to recognize who you truly are and where you come from . can management makes sure this lady olga Is acknowledged and recognized for being also such a wonderful blessing. One more person I would like to Include is Paris, she took time to call and try her best to get all our arrangements in order it was beyond her control, and that didn't stop her it motivated her to get it advocated and get the service provider to understand how difficult it can be for us as a indigenous persons. I will surly be coming back to stay everytime I'm in Winnipeg for medical stay ♡ To all my relations, new friends and family Ekosi. I'll miss you till we see each other again ...♡

Stayed here for a number of days as a loved one was having emergency life saving surgery. The hotel rooms are decent, although daily cleaning needs to be requested. They have taught their staff that even if a package of coffee or a garbage bag is needed, you need to call the front desk and don't talk to the staff that may be right outside your door. The front desk staff are very rude and discriminatory. I witnessed this multiple times passing by the lobby. One major instance was when the FD lady was not able to understand an Aboriginal person speaking (he was older and likely from a reservation. English may not be the first language of the guest). She spoke down to him and loudly asked if he was drunk. Other Indigenous people watching this were crying and upset by this, as it is deeply traumatic and hurtful to be treated this way. These people are at this hotel bc someone in their family is staying at the hospital and receiving treatment. As Hospitality staff it is not acceptable to treat guests this way. The restaurant staff and security outside are also unprofessional in the hotel and treat people poorly. One of the guards was also witnessed punching a man in a wheelchair on the head out front by my sister when she was outside the hotel. "Recognize all of mankind as a single caste of humanity"

NOTE 》 THERE ARE NO WHEELCHAIRS AT THIS HOTEL OR AT THE HOSPITAL !

I took my elderly mother (96 years old) here as she was having a procedure at the Health Science Centre. I was confused about where to park to unload the luggage and my mom before parking but a helpful security guard told me to park right in front and helped me which was great. There was no place for mom to sit in the hotel while we waited so she had to go sit in the hospital area which wasnt the greatest. I see why they dont have chairs as it would become more of a hang out like it is outside where there are lots of people standing around smoking which is a bit of a turn off. I parked right across the street which has an overhead inside walking pass. I parked on third floor in a wheelchair spot next to the stairs. You get a reduced rate so take your ticket with you and tell desk. The reception desk staff were great .. very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant on main floor and the food was delicious and the service was top notch. The room was really nice. We liked the elevator security they have. One big issue was a lack of wheelchairs in both hospital and hotel. We almost did not get one. I was told by the hotel desk that they give them for a quarter in hospital area but the info desk staff in hospital said they do not and just to go look for one but there werent any anywhere. I went back to hotel desk and they asked security to use their cameras to find one but they did not. I eventually asked to speak the hotel manager who was totally unhelpful and unkind. He basically told me this hotel is not connected to the hospital HOWEVER there is a hospital staff room behind the front desk and some sort of covid isolation floor as I learned. I told him most of the guests are probably there for medical reasons which is why the hotel was built adjoining the hospital. I began to panic and I had a bit of a meltdown and a Health Science staffer came out from the room behind the front desk which is where Health Science Staff are and told me shed get us one and after 30 minutes she found one but with no foot pads (all stolen apparantly). The wheelchair issue is unacceptable. The hospital and hotel need to fix this issue. They need to glue the footpads so they dont get stolen and put something on them similar to what shopping carts have so they dont disappear and / or set up a system that you must put a deposit down to get one. I suggest you take your own wheelchair and if you agree with me, voice yoir concerns as well. It is already stressful dealing with medical issues but to have to fight to get a wheelchair...

Stayed there: Sunday, October 3rd, 2021 - October 6th, 2021.

The room was nice and big. The bed and bedding were not very comfortable, woke up very sore, and could barely walk.

Felt very uncomfortable going outside to have a smoke. I know Winnipeg and HSC have strict smoking laws, BUT there is no place, with a bench to sit, unless you want to sit at the bus stop. So the only real place to sit, is on this tiny curb on the hotel property. I have arthritis in my spine, and a severely torn ligament in my groin, so trying to get up off that curb was quite painful for me. Not to mention, that the curb was almost always crowded with people, and the curb itself was extremely dirty.

Also didn't seem that your staff even cared, that possibly one of your guests, vomited this huge puddle, right in front of said curb. I mentioned it to your front desk, and no one decided to have the courtesy of taking a bucket of water, to wash it away. It remained there for more than 36 hours, and only dried bits remained.

I did not feel safe when outside, while on your property. I was constantly asked for cigarettes and spare change. One of the people that asked me, had obvious mental issues, as he was walking away from me, he was constantly mumbling. He would come back repeatedly through out the night, and ask me.

I did notice the lack of security patrols after the sun went down. There was a man sleeping barefoot, right behind the tiny curb, in the mulch over by those miniature hedges, I notified security, they came out, and told me, that unfortunately that was HSC property, and that they could do nothing about it. So I tried to tell the Winnipeg City Police that were parked by the Adult ER, they did not even come to see if the sleeping man was even alright. I also tried to get a hold of HSC security, and they did not even show up to see if the man was in need of help. Your one female security guard, finally checked on him, and got him on his way.

I believe your housekeeping and sanitization, is sorely lacking, especially in your elevators. Someone dropped their whole cup of coffee in elevator 1, I notified front desk, they said they would get housekeeping to clean it up. That did not happen until the morning. I picked up the cup myself and threw it in the lobby garbage can. The puddle dried into a sticky mess.

So I really did not enjoy my stay...

Well, Where to start. Check in was ok and the front desk is well marked. As for the rest of the stay..let's just say it fell apart. We actually didn't stay in the room much. Rolled into Winnipeg direct to the HSC where we spent most of our time except to grab a nap and off again early the next morning. The room was at one point a nice room I bet.looks a tad run down now. It appeared that someone made an attempt to clean it before our arrival but must have had a nap instead. Hairs of the longer persuasion all over the bed, counters and bathroom. We found the towels were stained with makeup and a blood like substance. Certainly weren't "fresh" stains by any means but looked as if it had been washed a couple times so someone besides us had to notice. The best part was on the war out my wife points to something she thought I had lost on the floor.....well to our surprise the previous guests had left us some pepperoni..just in case! The cleaning staff must have thought it was a great idea as well if you catch what I'm throwing. I've stayed in some questionable places for a reasonable price. The reason for this review though is this is a fairly expensive place and what you pay is nowhere indicative of the price...it's way over priced. The restaurant claims to be a fast food place...if that was fast I would hate to see slow! Gotta mention the staff there though..it appeared they were short and did a pretty good job trying to keep up. Also the parking is arse backwards you bring them a ticket from the parkade and they give you an electronic card in its place. You have to go get your car and get back across the street bring the card back to them. I've already checked out and don't want to come back. Would be a tad more convenient to leave the card in the parkade and someone could pick them up en masse. Nothing about the hotel reflects the price paid for the night. If you can it's best to avoid this place there are better options. Wish I had time to...
