Marigold Restaurants — Restaurant in Winnipeg

This location will always be the best and has always been the first choice for my family since before my time. Apparently my father used to be a regular four or five decades ago and while he may only order a couple times a year now... It is always Marigold on St Mary's.

The Cantonese Chow Mein is the absolute best in the city and the Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls, while not quite the same as they used to be (in a bucket half filled with sauce), are still amazing and the veal is hands down amazing.

The restaurant is always lovely and while I might only go a couple times a year, yet it feels like it never changes. The staff are always amazing and the food is some of the fastest for dining in compared to other restaurants. And while I have never experienced it myself, I hear the buffet is also fantastic.

This restaurant is a St. Boniface staple. Back in the 70s, we couldn't afford much. I remember my parents would take my brother and me to a "fancy" restaurant twice a year. This Marigold's is where that tradition started. I still enjoy going there today for my Americanized Chinese food. The food is tasty, portions are nice and price is reasonable. Honestly, the food is good, but the owners I have noticed are not the nicest. I saw them make one of there very nice and sweet waitresses cry. I have heard how they speak to her and it is incredibly rude. She needs to make a complain to the labour board in my option just because they are young does not give anyone the right to treat their employees like that. how you treat your employees is also a reflection of your restaurant so even if i like the food I will not be returning and I will be telling other friends of mine to do the same!
