The resto offers happy hr at a limited time starting from 5 to 6pm. We ordered a blast to try different tapas and food. Fantastic! By the way, it is my second time here and invited my colleagues to try this new gem.
First photo was an appetizer, chirashi nachos. It is made using wonton chips instead of nachos, herbs, proteins, avocado and greens. I like the uniqueness of these. Crunchy with a hint of few herbs. Perfect! 5/5
Second photo was an assortment of endulging food. On the top corner was their gyu tataki in sesame dressing with a hint of coffee. Not my type, kind of creamy and overly dressed. (2/5)
Sushi in the mid was the primo rolls which has a combi of tuna and salmon in spicy mayo with some avo and cucumber. I couldn't taste the difference between primo and sexy tuna. The only difference that this primo is a combination of salmon and tuna. It wasn't spicy as expected. 4/5
Next on the right was the korean squid bbq made with mild gochujuang. 4/5
Third photo was the volcano fries. It's not spicy as what you think. It is made with sweet yams, crab meat and their mayo dressing. Not spicy for me but you may add hot sauce, optional. 5/5
I got the chance to tried their salmon and tuna tacos as well and salmon is my choice, refreshing, creamy due to avocado and i really like their wonton/taco that they used. This is similar to to their chirashi nachos. This has more salmon compared with the chirashi nachos. 5/5
Next is the mangoliscious roll which is light and refreshing 4/5
The assortment of sashimis are great to try too. Fresh and no sticky texture.
Oysters, minis but reasonable for the price of happy hr.
We also tried the kalbi which I found a bit salty on my 2nd attempt but the first try was good. It was served in a sizzling plate but somehow some of the meat looks dry, ordinary kalbi taste. 4/5
I like their spicy prawn mangos (mid in last photo) it's a salad with few tempura on top with jalapeño which I found not spicy. Refreshing to eat, light and for single serving only. 5/5
They also have a soft bao (burger alike) that you can choose your protein. Not my food but i got the chance to taste for a single bite but I can't comment further.
Overall experience was great. We had a blast dinner and server/team is fantastic. They have 18 seats indoor and some for patio seating. I have noticed that all their spicy food wasn't spicy but we felt the warm welcome of the team. Food were appetizing, well presented. Went twice but noticed that they don't use tomatoes which is a missed out on some. Clean washroom, free parking...
Read moreWent here for the first time a few weekends ago and had such a great experience! Got some cocktails, and tried a few different dishes. In order of my faves first, we got the Fois Gras Crostini, Oyster Rockefeller, the Truffle Roll and Lobster Roll... all of which were to die for! And then the Kyleburi Roll and the Mangolicious Roll, which I wasn't really crazy about. I think it was mostly just the black rice I wasn't fond of, and then the Mangolicious roll was just a little too ordinary for me— I enjoy more complicated flavours. Next time I think I'll switch out the Kyleburi and Mangolicious and try a Scallop Roll, Beef Carpaccio Roll or Eye of the Tai Roll instead. I'll report back! Might be one of my new fave sushi places though... as long as they keep using real crab meat. Fingers crossed
2nd VISIT: Went a 2nd time for my B-Day and I'm literally addicted now!! Lol Ordered the Notorious Shrimp Roll (replaced the black rice for white rice), the Scallop Roll and Tuna Crostini. We got the Lobster Roll, Truffle Roll and Oyster Rockefeller again as well. We truly NAILED IT with our selections this time... The meal was bloody euphoric!! I've added photos of the Notorious Shrimp Roll, the Scallop Roll and Tuna Crostini. ENJOY!
3rd VISIT: Went for our 1 year anniversary and tried two new items... The Softshell Crab appetizer (we were so hungry we forgot to take a photo lol) and the Lotus Roll! The Lotus Roll was amazing— beautiful and so fresh and flavourful (photo attached)! The softshell crab was excellent as well. Will definitely order again, and we plan to try out the Torched Salmon Roll...
Read moreCame in with a friend last night and ordered a couple things each. The restaurant tables were about half full, and we waited a few minutes for the waitress to clean us a spot. After we ordered, she came back to say the restaurant ran out of regular sushi rice and asked us to accept the black rice in its place, which was okay. However, I ordered the Shroom roll and recieved a different one, I think the one above it on the menu, veggie supreme or something. I clocked the mistake right away, as the roll had peppers inside and I can't eat peppers at all. I wouldnt have ordered something with peppers, and I double checked the menu. I asked the waitress about it immediately but she insisted that was the Shroom roll, despite it not having mushrooms and very obviously having bright bell peppers in it. Unfortunately, my friend and I were in a rush and that was the last item to come out of the kitchen. Since we had time constraints that we didn't plan out very well (our bad), I didnt feel like I had time to argue and just put the roll in a box and took it with me, even though I wont be able to eat it. The rest of the food was pretty good, nothing super special. I wish the waitress would have looked harder at the roll and/or considered what I was saying when I pointed out it was wrong. She just said, yup thats the shroom roll, there are lots of veggies, the mushrooms are hiding in there somewhere. 12+ dollar mistake on me and a waste of food. I would be hesitant...
