I’ve always loved George’s burgers but the last two times I went to the Regent location I was disappointed. 6+ months ago I ordered fat boy combo for take out, got home and ended up biting into a super nasty hair that was embedded in the patty (looked like either facial hair or a public hair tbh). They gave my money back which was fine, but I decided not to go back for a long time because I was turned off. Today (Sept 13) I went back, deciding to give it another chance, get home and after every bite i took, I’m lookin wearily at my burger for any hairs... What do you know after my 4th bite, there’s a gross hair melted into the cheese. They’re giving my money back again but now they’ve lost a customer because they seem to be a little careless when preparing the food. Now.. I work in the food service industry and understand these things happen from time to time (let it slide the first time), but come on... Couldn’t prove themselves clean when I gave them a second chance. Very disappointed because I loved George’s burgers and now I...
Read moreI was craving calamari and Georges is one of the best places for it, well the one on St Mary's anyways, but for some reason they where not on skip, so I decided to try this Georges, calamari and a Greek burger, always a good combo...until I opened up my burger, I asked for a lot of pickles, they gave me 3, because I didn't want tomatoes, they make everything soggy...wasn't even any Tzatiki on it and the beef patty was so thin, I was shocked, the whole burger was just mouth full's of bun, I have had this same burger from the St Mary's Location and the meat has been a lot thicker, I've even tried the Greek burger from Dairy Delight, it was amazing and the beef patty was so thick!!!!! The Calamari was meh, did not taste fresh and the Tzatiki did not taste like the St Mary's location, they put garlic in there's. I know there all owned independently but come on. And I hate they put lettuce under the calamari, it makes it soggy, just sayin.
Thanks for the reply Georges, but I have no idea who that...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Winnipeg from Toronto last weekend and dropped in here for a meal. The atmosphere was very homely, the staff very friendly, and the food was over the top! My wife ordered fish and chips and we were shocked at the size of the pieces of fish and the quantity of both the fish and the fries. The portions seemed 'family size'! The batter on the fish was not overdone so it made for a very tasty meal! We returned the following day and had burgers. Again, the burgers were HUGE and really tasty! The poutine too was delicious. If you are visiting Winnipeg or live there and have not yet gone to this place, I would highly recommend a visit. You will go back again! PS: we carried burgers back to Toronto. Told them of our plans so they prepared them accordingly ensuring they were not mushy after our flight. Thank you team for your delicious food and lovely smiles and service! You made our...
