This was our first time at Praire's Edge, and it does not disappoint. It was just a great experience from start to finish. We did have a reservation and were seated immediately upon walking in. Our server... Jeremy greeted us just after being seated and offered us water and took our drink orders. I have to say that Jeremy went above and beyond when it came to service. He offered us his opinions on menu items and what was his favorites. A very fun and charming young man who made our evening with wonderful personality and his exceptional customer service. Our food was fantastic. It came out very quickly and the portion size was perfect. We finished dinner with the chocolate hazel nut cheese cake. I can honestly say it was one of the best cheese cakes I have ever had. Great food, great drinks, and great staff. We will definitely be going back.

We booked a lunch reservation before going to see a show at Rainbow Stage. I ended up ordering the Mushroom Toast from the breakfast menu (available until 1pm), I substituted the hashbrowns for french fries. The portion was so big and everything was so DELICIOUS!! It was my first time eating here and what a great experience! My daughter ordered the Grilled Cheese from the kids menu which included a juice, grilled cheese sandwich (which was huge!), big portion of fries, 2 slices of green apples, and a Rice Krispies square. The whole menu looked great! Everything was amazing, atmosphere, menu options, price point, portions, it was all fantastic! The is a parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so convenient!

Really nice place out of downtown Winnipeg. It was worth coming all the way up here. The park is huge and lovely. The service is impeccable here. I had eggs Benedict with bacon, my hubby had Prairie's breakfast, very generous portion. I had the grated hash browns but I recommend the cubed ones, they are tastier, seasoned, and warmer. Mine were cold. I had a true north tea, really good! I came from downtown by bus, 18 or 38. It was nice to see around on the way up. It's worth the try.

My mom and I went there on Sunday morning for brunch. We got there around 11:45am. The restaurant was packed and they seated us within about five minutes. When we were seated, they did not give us any menus and they did not come back to give us drinks or take our order for at least 10 to 15 minutes. When they did finally come to give us waters, they noticed that we didn’t have menus and brought them over to us within about 2 to 3 minutes. While we were eating, this other servers were moving walls and moving tables, and it was very disruptive and not relaxing whatsoever.

My mom ordered a classic breakfast and I ordered eggs Benedict plus we also ordered a toasted cinnamon bun to share. They brought out coffee, which was lukewarm. When we got the cinnamon bun, it was not toasted it did not have , any whipped cream and it was pretty much ice cold. When I mentioned it to our server, she said she would take it back to be warmed. When it was brought back to me, it had been microwaved and the raspberries all exploded - they didn’t remove them before microwaving it. The bun was hard after being microwaved and not tasty at all, I did not eat it. It felt like everything was rushed. When I received my eggs Benedict, my bacon was undercooked but I had asked for it slightly crispy. I was nervous to send back the bacon, so I just removed it from my plate and started eating but then my server came and asked how everything was and I just explain to her that the bacon was undercooked and not slightly crispy as I had asked. And to be frank, I didn’t really trust the kitchen to make it right. She insisted on getting me a new plate of bacon, and when she brought me back the bacon, it was super crispy and blackened from being over cooked. It’s like the Kitchen is unable to do things at a precise, cooking temperature, they either under cook it or overcook it. I explained the situation to the server and asked if I could speak to a manager, but she assured me that the manager was very sorry and the kitchen was very sorry and then it wouldn’t happen again. I’m not really sure why I couldn’t speak to the manager, but it was very discouraging. It’s sad because it’s such a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location and I was hoping to have my birthday dinner there this year but I just don’t feel comfortable bringing friends and family to a restaurant that is unable to do simple breakfast dishes.

I had been there six months prior and had such a wonderful meal, so it was very disappointing that it was so subpar.

I do not recommend this restaurant as I felt like the service and the food could be better, considering the price you’re paying.

The whole...

I was just there with a table of 8 for the patio. The food was great everyone loves their plates. Atmosphere was great! Unfortunately our service was a real let down. Me and my partner arrived first, I ordered a gin soda and a black coffee. The last couple showed up and got his coffee first 20 minutes after we ordered our drinks. I asked if she forgot about my coffee and she said she's making another pot. She seemed annoyed with my question. It makes no sense for us to have received our drinks last when we arrived first of the 8 people. She didn't ask people if they were done before taking the plates away that still had food on it. I have many food allergies and I tend to go to places with other people and not be able to eat which is totally okay. But I was asking questions about the butter and oil because I'm allergic to soy. And she said a few times " do you want to get it anyways ". As if my allergy isn't real. I asked for gluten free toast and to add real butter and cheese. ( Cheese toast) And she brought it with American cheese slices on it. Which has soy in it. I said I'll pay for it and not eat it. She took it away and said no charge ( which is great) and then brought back a second round with mozza cheese. But the bread wasn't toasted and it seemed microwaved. I totally understand I can't be accommodated everywhere I go I am not faulting the restaurant for this. But the vibe of me lying about the allergy was really frustrating. The service was not good. I have worked as a server for 7 years. She just genuinely needs training on what to prioritize and even if she thought I was lying about my allergies I shouldn't have been able to tell she felt that way.

Also, when I asked them for the check she brought it to all the men at the table. It should be put in the middle. You don't know...

Pretty disappointed in my experience tonight. We came for my moms birthday.. she chose it because she really enjoys it.

For appetizers, we had the hummus, bread basket, and chicken wings. The hummus was delicious honestly no complaints with that although when we asked the server what the red sauce was she said it was “some sort of tomato thing”. Really wished the server had better menu knowledge but she could have been new... we don’t know. The bread basket with oil and balsamic was not well thought out. The dip bowl was way too deep and each piece of bread we dipped in only got the oil with hardly any of the balsamic. There were two pieces of what I think was bannock in the bread basket which did not pair well with the dip what so ever. The maple chili sauce for the chicken wings was pretty good no complaints there. Once we finished our appetizers, we ended up moving the plates to the end of the table where there was some space because they took so long to clear them.

For my main, I ordered the butter chicken flatbread and a side of German potato salad. The flatbread sounded super good on the menu but was super disappointing. It had zero butter chicken flavour. It just tasted like tomato sauce with poached chicken tossed into it. The German potato salad was good but underseasoned.

We had creme brûlée for dessert and it was one of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. However, the bad still outweighed the good during my visit.

Because of the price point, I expected better service and food especially from a wow! hospitality restaurant. I didn’t say anything at the restaurant to the sever about the butter chicken but it was my moms birthday and I didn’t want to ruin her dinner. My mom really enjoyed her meal and that’s what...
