The Little Eggplant — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Had them for the first time today at the market, it was beyond bad. We ordered both the spicy Sicilian and the pollo pesto ‘panini’ for a whopping price $15 each and they were so disappointing. For starters they were on some sort of pita bread not panini buns at all, the chicken was described as thinly sliced chicken breast with the toppings and it was literally Cold bland sandwich meat that tasted like maple leaf from a package. The wait was very long 20 minutes about, and the panini wasn’t even warm inside, the cheese did not melt at all and the lunch meat (which we would not have ordered if we knew it wasn’t actual chicken breast) was still COLD and unseasoned. There was also barely any pesto on the sandwich, for it to be called a pollo e pesto and not have real chicken breast slices nor much pesto at all, to the point where you can’t even taste it, is super confusing and disappointing?! NOT worth the price at all. Actually would say the price is completely outrageous for the items we received. Did not taste Italian at all. It was closest to a pita, but with gross sandwich meat and less flavour than any pita we have ever had. We would not recommend this food truck/restaurant. Please at least replace the strange pita bread with actual panini buns… or at least grill them together until the insides are warm, and cheese melts, especially for your prices and for the wait...

Had the pleasure of trying one of The Little Eggplants Panini’s which happened to be one of then best sandwiches I have ever had. It was all so fresh and delicious. This sandwich prompted me to try having them out for an event I was hosting, and Fil and his wife did not disappoint! All evening I was hearing how great the food was and just how lovely Fil and his wife were. The event was for a youth based organization, so I had spoken with Fil and gave him the age range and a budget and let him make the food/menu choices. The food was once again AMAZING, and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. The Little Eggplant is definitely a truck I will be visiting time and again as well has highly recommend to anyone looking...

I used Fils service for a lunch after a funeral service. The cost was way less than what the funeral home wanted and the food was delicious. It arrived right on time and the trays were huge! There were so many options, spicy, non spicy. We had a beautiful fruit tray as desert. It was a lovely way to have a Celebration of Life in an atmosphere were people felt at home, shared memories and ate. Everybody had second helpings! This is the 2nd time I have used their catering service, trust me, they do not disappoint. I will use them again for whatever my next event may be! Thank you to Fil for once again providing fantastic food...
