Seine River Cafe — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I have been several times to the Seine River Café -- a place introduced to me by a late friend who wisely promised "You are going to love it!" -- and I can heartily recommend it. Not only is the food incredible -- varied menu, high quality ingredients, delectable well prepared meals -- but all the staff I have met have been outstanding.

My only 'criticism' would be that the coziness during quieter times becomes (over-) crowdedness at peak hours. That said, most patrons seem to be quite friendly, too. It is a truly lovely place to go to enjoy good food in a homey atmosphere.

Google compared it to Perkins, I suppose based in part on atmosphere and in part on the menu. The quality (if not perfection) of Seine River Café is what Perkins seeks to emulate. With reasonable prices, comparable to the aforementioned franchise, do yourself and your party a favour and experience dining as it should be. And no, I am not paid for this praise nor related to any staff, management or owners. Seine River Café is simply one of the best restaurants in which one could hope to dine....

Has gone downhill significantly in thr last year. They've halved all their portions while increasing the price of nearly everything by 5$. They aren't even consistent in their ingredients anymore. I ordered two days in a row and received two completely different kinds of fries (one was their usual "herb" fries, the ones I received today are soggy mccanes fries.) It shows on their instagram that they had their proper fries 5 hours ago, yet I receive a cheap alternative for premum pricing? Respectfully, theres no way you guys had enough business within the last 5 hours to have somehow ran out. If somebody's order is fry heavy, maybe cancel it if you don't have your fries in stock? I've thought about writing a review before after having spent 7$ on a dessert to receive a slice of pie that was smaller than my thumb, but held off until today's abysmal order.

Horrible Service. Did not do initial check back on my meal. Did not give one refill on my drink. I guess they expect me to gag on my food, not considerate enough to give me water even. Just gave me the bill without a thank you. I gave a dollar tip because that's all my server deserved. Will never ever spend my hard earned money again in this place. It seems like they hold grudges and can't fix the situation nor apologize for the lack of great service. I don't care if you work in the industry for a long time or not You don't argue or be offended you fix the problem. If your not taught how to give proper service to new clients you better just stick to your regulars. I've been in the restaurant industry for over 16years. If you as a restaurant can't take honest criticism. You'll never get better cause in the long run. Same routine same style of service. All individuals are different. Show the guest a great time and welcome them in. Never ever think of them...
