Let’s start with the positives. Stunning restaurant, beautiful use of finishes, decor. Very nicely done. Clearly, a lot of money went into this space. We travel to Cayman very often, already been in GC 5 weeks of the past 9. Last time we were in, Mykonos was closed, and we wanted to try it.
Now, our server was very kind, but clearly not someone who is experienced. Struggled to understand the table, awkward offerings and seem to not pay attention to what was still being consumed vs clearly finished just sitting. Again nice, but clearly not experienced.
When he first approached, I thought he was the water server. Anyway…table of 4 ordered an appetizer platter. Best of all the food by far. 7/10. Significant amount of food for 4 ppl. Waiter came back shortly afterward and asked if we were ready to order appetizers?
Focused on the Tomahawk as the special - really tried to push it.
Drinks were okay. Martini with Olives came super dirty. Very odd as we didn’t order a dirty martini. Replacement came with vermouth even though we asked for it not too.
I initially thought this was a high end Greek Restaurant, it’s not. In fact it is a steak house - which it does indicate. Some key Greek dishes totally absent from the menu.
My wife ordered the Chicken Souvlaki (1 of only 2 Greek main dishes) and it was dry and totally mediocre.
Our friends ordered the Calamari and 2 beef skewers, and I had the King Crab salad.
Calamari was fine 6/10. My King Crab salad was shockingly bad 1/10, especially for $60 USD. Shell and cartilage with almost every bite, flavor was bland and I left most of it. That was it. The appetizer board, which was Feta, bread, humus, tzatziki and the above. $600 USD for 4 ppl. I have zero issues paying $$$$ for great restaurants. When this happens, it’s a serious bummer.
Atmosphere: 7:00pm and they have a DJ and trying to make it a Miami club lounge. Very odd space. Clearly trying too hard to be something, but…. for us it was a fail. The couple we were with are very well known on island and have lived there on and off for 30 years, needless to say, we were disappointed.
So many better restaurants...
Read moreWhere to begin except for this restaurant is a WOW!! We have been all over the world and Mykonos blows us away for STELLAR service, exquisite wine selection, and delicious food!! We first went her 6 months ago for breakfast and again for afternoon snacks which we loved! This visit, we went for dinner last week with the AMAZING Somm, Brian and waitstaff, the lovely Miriam. We walked back into the place tonight for a second dinner and the manager, Alexis greeted us at the door with a “Nice to see you again”. I thought to myself that I had to have heard him wrong. He can’t possibly remember us with all the people that pass through that door but he indeed, meant what he said. They make a point to remember all who pass through their threshold. Brian, the Somm, immediately came to our table with a heartfelt greeting as did Miriam even though she was not our waitstaff on this visit. We had Basappa who was equally wonderful! Brian picked out an absolutely INCREDIBLE bottle of wine and we once again enjoyed the pastrami appetizer (DELICIOUS), Greek salad, and molten cake for dessert. The pizzas are also perfection! I ended with the 30 year port that was exceptional! We walked out the door with a final hug from Brian, sweet goodbye from Alexis, and introduction to Chef Jonathan which is where the culinary magic originates to bring everything together. If you can’t tell, you should GET HERE on any visit to Grand...
Read moreAs a restaurant named after a beautiful Greek Island known for its summer party atmosphere, we expect Greek food and vibrant ambiance. Well the decor is stunning indeed. The Bougainvilles, blue stripe cushions and blush tone fixtures on the inside are inviting! When asking the bartender outside "please can you create a drink with passion fruit or raspberry?, something fresh and citric", I was served a cocktail w Campari. I immediately informed I did not like it, and the response was to offer it to my friends, instead! I had to ask over two times for him to please take it away, I would still pay for it. As I was ignored, I then called for a second bar tender to get a decent service. Shocking! The hummus seems like an invention, and no flat bread in the bread basket. Mykonos sushi needs balance. The wasabi mayo takes over and kills your palate. We decided not to order anything further. Such a beautiful restaurant! The poor service and food did not make up to our expectations. All my friends and I were sad for the experience. The DJ is great and the vibe after dinner is super! I would suggest to revisit the menu with a top Greek chef and add a few authentic tapas and a couple of main wow dishes. Simplicity is key: a great selection of olives, no sushi would already bring it to a better level. Get the top professionals in hospitality to truly bring up the excelence. Hope it gets better with time. I...
