This place has a NAVY theme! Very cool! Lots and lots of navy memorabilia and tributes to Chile's great navy hero Arturo Pratt. We went for dinner on a Saturday evening, and almost had the place to ourselves. The service was excellent. The drinks came out quite quickly - Moscow mule, pisco sours, espumantes. I ordered Pulpo Mediterranean, with the vegetables on the side. The pulpo was excellent, very well flavoured, cooked till just tender, the thick ends of the tentacles took two knife strokes to cut, but the rest was tender yet firm. No mushiness at all. There were hot and cold condiments on the plate, both quite tasty, olive tapenadish, slightly acidic, but I did not really need them as the pulpo was super tasty by itself, but yes, better with the condiments. Excellent pulpo. My wife ordered a salad, with lots of avocado. She liked it. She ordered a Tiramisu Deconstructed for postre. The lady fingers cookies was replaced by a rock hard brownie topped with marscapone, topped with a disc of chocolate, topped with 4 peaks of marscapone. There were 2 dislocated halves of strawberry and a smear of chocolate sauce on the plate. Deconstructed maybe not. Discombobulated, more likely. One brother in law ordered a seafood spaghetti with white sauce. He sent it back because all the pasta was broken to less than 4 or 5 cm long and could not be twirled onto a fork. They brought his plate back to the table with what looked like more pasta. As he started to eat, it he realized that they had just put some long noodles on the top and brought the same broken pasta plate back. In the end they did make it right by bringing him a plate of long spaghetti with seafood and white sauce. Two of our group ordered fish cooked on the plancha. Unfortunately both fish portions were dry, tough and lacking in flavour. I could see them both fighting to cut the fish. One of our party ordered fish with centolla. I could not see the centolla, but my sister in law really liked her dish. Honestly, my pulpo was so good that I feel bad giving a low star rating, but when 4 out of 7 dishes are bad, that is the only possible outcome. The service was prompt, efficient and friendly. The ambience is very navy, and very cool. (I may be a little biased as my son is in the US Navy, currently stationed in Panama. And that day was my sons birthday.) I would still recommend Ocean...
Read moreFor quality inexpensive sea food, look no further! This place has a wide variety of sea food that everyone can enjoy. Upon first walking in, you are hit with sensory overload as every square inch is covered in Chilean Naval memorabilia. It could be considered tacky for some, but I liked seeing all the different uniforms, sabers, maps, naval artifacts, and historical plaques. The tables were awesome, as they had glass tops that revealed sea shells and starfish on a bed of sand. And if you look closely, some have silly eyes glued on them. Upstairs there's a room dedicated to Arturo Pratt, a Navy war hero during the Pacific War against Peru...
