Food is average. Nothing to write home about.
Atmosphere is average but has very nice view of the water and islands.
Service is average at best. I've never really written a bad review about places. But this one earned an exception.
We went during an overcast day so we asked if the shades could be lowered at most half way to block the sun from top of the windows. We asked 2 different servers at 2 seperate times and both told us that the table in front of the window might not want it lowered. We politely asked each of the servers to enquire if that table is ok with lowering the shades. The first server laughed it off as if my request was a joke and proceeded to walked away.
The second server told us we should've requested it lowered when we booked the table. Maybe they should've asked us when we booked since this is a new hotel opened in June 2022 and not many people have been including us. This server proceeds to walk away saying he would ask the table but didn't.
Neither asked the table if ok to lower blinds nor gave us a response.
About half hour later the table by the window leaves and the first server we asked goes to inspect the table and looks over at us. We thought she would either lower the blinds or come over to ask us if we still wanted the blinds down. She scurried off quickly.
We asked a third server and this time she quickly obliged and found the remotes to lower the blinds.
It finally dawned on me why so many people curse and yell at servers at restaurants. I've always wondered why patrons are so rude. Maybe this is why. Being polite in HK doesn't get...
Read moreParking: N/A, we caught an Uber to the hotel and stayed there to dine.
Atmosphere: Fine Dinning
Service: They were nice but not too helpful for non native language speakers.
Food: Pan Fried Spotted Garoupa: most definitely not worth the price. I ask how many people this dish can serve and was told 5-6 people then they brought out 5-6 piece which was good but not great.
Wok fried crab meat vermicelli noodle: It’s good if you’re hungry otherwise just ok plate.
Wok Fried spicy king prawn with crispy rice: Not Spicy and not king prawns. They were small shrimps.
Supports Military: N/A
Overall: Nice fine dinning restaurant location but it is definitely not worth another visit. The food seasoning is decent enough to get a good rating but way over priced. I wish working in a hospitality field the servers would be more willing to help tourist is English and willing to use the translate app with the guest but there were no interest attempts with my...
Read moreOne line summary of my experience is “overpromise, under delivered”. Food portions were small and tasted okay with the abalone pot rice being “the best” in this tasting menu. But nothing spectacular about the presentation, taste, or ambience to make me remember this place and wanna come back again. They are obviously more keen on upselling customers with more food order from the moment you sat down than to do a good job across the board.
Ms Ronnie was exceptional in how she made us feel very unwelcomed by insisting we sat directly under the air con vent when we (2 seniors and me the handicap) were there at 12:30 with only 2 tables of guests. Such “5 star” service is truly unforgettable.
So my recommendation is for same amount of $$, you are far better off going to grand Hyatt and island shangri la. There is a reason why those places are...
