Coco Cafe — Restaurant in Islands District

Quaint neighbourhood cafe and I think they sensed I was a “foreigner”. One server was quite rude and threw the menu onto my table instead of taking the couple of extra steps to set it down? A beautiful day and got a corner table just by a window but the waitresses (there were several of them standing about) weren’t particularly warm or friendly towards me.

Also, for a few minutes, I was sharing my already very small table with a complete stranger. I already ordered and waiting for my food at the two seat table I was at when I look up and she (another customer) started dusting off the chair on the other side of my table asking if she could sit there. The waitress says is it ok? I’m flabbergasted and look around and notice there are tables outside, a few similar tables with men only themselves sitting and another one just beside also with just one lone woman yet here she is taking a seat at my table? No words so I simply nod and try not to focus on how awkward.. my food arrives and I take up only half of the table since she’s there then when her’s arrives I’m about to move but the customer just next to us has vacated so one of the nicer waitresses notices my discomfort and starts pointing to the other table so the lady moves over and I continue like nothing happened 🥲🤨

Quite a busy / lively cafe. The meal came to $42 HKD which I thought was pretty good and included a drink. Although the menu stated three different types of bread I wasn’t asked which I wanted and I had to ask for butter which was then brought to me as a chunk on a knife. I could tell watching the local patrons that this is a place they frequent often and has a certain warmth...

This is a small cafe restaurant located in a small and remote village, they offer mostly steak in a HK style with side dishes. Afternoon tea set is available here. They also serve good coffee. Outdoor seating is available for smokers. Staff here are mostly friendly tho they serve...

Heard its legend for quite awhile, finally got a chance to try it out! No disappointment, seldom restaurant served 2 eggs during breakfast nowadays! Plus it has the option to add extra choices, marvellous! Coffee is great too, huge parking in front of the shop so no worries...
