Handi Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Islands District

I ordered delivery and just loved the taste. Decided to visit and loved the setup. Simple setup with not much fanfare and gives a Indian dhaba type of feeling which is made even better by really excellent food served here. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and almost always personally attends to the guest's with some really nice suggestions that make the dining experience a memorable one. You definitely would want to keep visiting this place especially if you are and Indian expat and a fan of Punjabi cuisine. Taxi from Tung Chung MTR costs around 20 to 22 hkd approx but on the way back do ensure you have the number for Lantau island taxi call number to book one or even better have Uber app installed which has always worked accurately for me. The food was at its worst. We ordered the mix tandoori (chicken tikka, seek and another chicken variant). It was pathetic and we voiced out , no salt and undercooked. He took it back to rectify. in the meantime chicken tikka biryani was served. This was a very cheap and pathetic interpretation of biryani. no use of long grain basmati rice, chicken not marinated, was more like pieces of chicken gravy and rice mixed together after cooking. the mix grill came (made again), but alas no words to describe how bad it was ~chicken was raw.

We were not charged for the mixed grill. the only good thing served ,Kingfisher Beer..thank God Handi does not brew it.

The owner is decent, has good intention but he needs to really do something to up the mark to get it to a bare...

Having visited Handi Indian Restaurant several times, it’s one of our go-to spots for Indian cuisine in Tung Chung.

On our latest visit, we ordered the Nawabi Tikka, Fish Korma, Garlic Naan, and Potato Paratha. The Nawabi Tikka was as tender and flavorful as always, while the Fish Korma offered a rich, aromatic sauce that paired beautifully with the naan. Although we received Onion Paratha instead of Potato, it was still tasty. Mistake can happen, but overall still great.
