Lamees is a hidden gem in To Kwa Wan that serves authentic Mediterranean cuisine with an affordable price. My cousin and I visited it on a Wednesday evening to try out their dinner dishes.
We started our dinner with these Falafels. The fried beans and fresh herbs patty were served with very delicious tahini sauce in the middle. Perfect finger food for starter.
Picture of these Black Truffle and Mushrooms bread looked so good on the menu, and the real thing looked exactly the same and tasted really good! The bread was very fluffy; the black truffle and mushrooms on top made superb toppings! Rightly flavored, you wouldn’t be craving for a drink after finishing the bread. Awesome!
My cousin did her homework, and said this Lamb Shank received great comments, so we got one to try. The New Zealand Coastal free range lamb was so soft and tender! It really did “fall off the bone” as stated in the menu. What made it even better was the dressing. What i love most about Mediterranean cuisines is that their use of herbs for seasonings, which makes the dish really flavored, but not too much for your tongue and stomach to handle. The same is true for this dish, the potatoes and bread in the dish were so enjoyably flavored that we adored them so much!
Of course we saved some tummy space for a special and nice dessert. This Kanafeh is Lamees’ signature masterpiece of Middle East dessert. It’s oven baked shredded filo pastry with cheese curd and rose syrup. The cheese curd in the middle was mildly savory, and the rose syrup was delightfully sweet. It might appear to be weird to have a dessert with both savory and sweet tastes, but it tasted surprisingly great! Really divine and magical!
We highly recommend Lamees to you, it’s great for friends, families and couples. There are also outdoor seats which are great for smokers or people who want...

We booked in advance for Christmas lunch and were met with a friendly team, even the Chef came out and introduced us to the menu. A small cosy location - but don’t let that deter you.
The food is homemade, locally sourced and full of love. The chef has a clear vision of the message he intends to share with his food - eat at my table and let me share with you my culture. We went with the Spicy Dips Selection, Lamb Shokaf and Wagyu tail stew with rice. No corners are skipped in the delivery - All the dips and sauces were homemade, the meats melt in your mouth, the flat breads are prepared in house and the experience leaves you wondering where everything else on the menu would take you.
What we didn’t anticipate getting was the grilled octopus, the chef insisted we give it a try and we were so glad he did - it was… no words. The tender melt in your mouth texture of the octopus is something rarely experienced - even in the best restaurants in the Mediterranean. Dressed in olive oil and bejewelled with olives and garlic. Do not miss out on this dish when you get to Lamees.
We finished with the Kanafeh, the dish was light, crispy and just enough syrup and cheese, but finished with a generous handful of crushed pistachio.
To say Lamees is “authentic” would undermine its true agenda - this chef has real heart: from the sourcing and quality of the food to the delivery of the flavours and experience. Lamees leaves you feeling like you’ve been invited into the Chefs home in Jordan. We can’t...
