Pause It — Restaurant in Kowloon

I recently visited Pause it at Lai Chi Kwok for lunch, wanted to try classic Eggs Benedict and latte. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations.

Salmon and Egg Benedict: 2/5 The presentation was lackluster, resembling a hurried assembly rather than a carefully crafted dish. The poached eggs, while cooked properly, lacked the desired runniness, which is essential for a good Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was overly thick and had a strange tang that overshadowed the flavors. The sourdough was toasted, but it was a bit too stale, making it difficult to cut through. Overall, it felt more like a mediocre breakfast than the indulgent brunch I was hoping for.

Latte: 3/5 The latte was decent but didn’t stand out. The coffee flavor was muted, and the milk was frothy but not silky. It lacked the rich, velvety texture that makes a latte enjoyable. While it was drinkable, I found myself wishing for a stronger coffee taste and better balance with the milk.

Service and Atmosphere: 2/5 The service was below average; the staff seemed overwhelmed, leading to a longer wait time for foods than expected. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, but it felt a bit too casual for a lunch outing.

very lovely cafe! in all white that gives a very sharp and smart image. here for lunch and it wasn't too busy and was able to get a seat. they've got lunch sets to choose from, with pasta, chicken and steak. overall very relaxing place and i wish to come again...
