I really don’t like leaving negative reviews, and I know where I am, so my disappointment must be tempered by time and location. But…
I had the worst pint of Guinness I’ve ever been given at Finnegan’s Wake Nanjing. I had one sip and the bar staff could tell it wasn’t a pleasant experience.
The barmaid had the sense to ask “you don’t like Guinness?” I do like it very much.
I’m not saying that it was watered down because I have no idea exactly how the watering down process works, but it was very watery, and above all, vinegary.
I only had two sips and then gave it up. I told the staff it was very unpleasant but still had to pay 70rmb for an undrinkable pint. I left.
Had I been offered another drink instead I’d have nothing but praise for the place, I’d have chalked it down to a bad batch and probably stayed for one or two more and a bite.
Can’t recommend it. There’s Chinese bars both great beers and great fun nearby, so I say give this place a...
