Paulaner Brauhaus — Restaurant in Nanjing City

This place is a hidden gem in Nanjing city, set in an elevated position on two floors. It features a very nicely furbished ground floor bar/restaurant and an open roof top terrace bar. The beer is excellent and the food ok but as others commented very expensive. I spent a lovely sunny afternoon here in May 2019 on the roof terrace over looking part of the city and watching the world go bye. The only thing that spoilt the experience being that some of the staff ( the younger members) were lazy and quite rude, so different to my experience in almost every other part of this beautiful country...

A large-scale South German or Austrian-style beer hall, complete with staff dressed in traditional attire. The live music adds a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The venue is slightly elevated above the bustling street, and first-time visitors may find the entrance a bit tricky to locate. The beers are excellent—especially the Witzen, which is notably aromatic. Large craft brewing tanks are visible on-site, adding to the authentic feel. However, as with many Chinese CBs, the alcohol content seems lower than indicated—I rarely feel its effect, and this holds true...

Spent many nights here. Watched a lot of the 2012 Confed Cup here. Great beer, pretty good food, plenty of seating both...
