This restaurant was fed to me through IG reels and I was instantly interested in it. Steak and beer what not to love. I was surprised to see it to be this packed but luckily we booked a table. The restaurant is very cozy and the atmosphere looked like an English pub. Food and drinks were flying everywhere and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
We ordered a tomahawk steak to share and some sides. The steak was 32oz but ~1/4 to 1/3 of it was the bone so theres not much steak left to eat. If you are especially hungry that day, just 1 steak for 2 people may not be enough. We wanted to order the mussels too we were told there are fresh mussels when we came in, but when we tried to order it we were told it was sold out. We wanted to order their flaming Alaska too since they seem to be famous for it, but that too was sold out. So if you want to eat those 2, better order it nice and early.
The highlight of the meal wasnt the steak, but the mango beer. At $49 for a pint it was a steal. Its basically regular draft beer but they added some mango sauce into it, but that made the beer really creamy and fruity and very enjoyable. We ended up order a second pint as it was that enjoyable. Already making plans on coming back a second time to eat the mussels and...
Read moreWe came early, just before 6pm and were lucky to get a table for 4 without a reservation. This is the first time I have been here. The venue and atmosphere is great! Clean and tidy despite being quite busy. The service was very good as although they have online ordering, the waiters are more than happy to take orders manually and give suggestions and advices.
As for the food, the steaks were partially a bit undercooked but it was to be expected for such thick steaks in a busy place. You could opt for the steak being served on a hot iron plate instead to have that covered but one would probably have to eat faster to prevent it from being overcooked by sitting on the hot iron plate for too long. The “tomahawk”(reads cowboy”) ribeye steak for two did come on a ceramic plate with two candles underneath but the winter weather rendered it somewhat useless. For the price, the food can’t be beaten; it is just that it took us a half hour drive and some parking fees unless we opted for over an hour ride via public transport.
All in all, it was a very nice experience and would definitely come...
Read moreI love their steak, very tasty!
It has been more than 30 years since I left Sheung Shui, the area where I grew up. I recently visited the place again and found that it has changed a lot. There are very few shops that I knew in my childhood that are still there today. I can’t remember whether this restaurant existed at its current location. I am very pleased when I entered it for the first time early this year. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is incompatible with the current area, but it is full of the charm of the British past. The steak meal is priced at a reasonable price, and is very delicious. The staffs are young and energetic, and their service is attentive. It is really rare nowadays in Hong Kong, and I wonder if it is due to the young successor at the helm of the restaurant. I hope he can Keep it in business for...
