There was a KFC here back when the mall was called Sunshine City. It closed for a few years as part of the major mall renovations and eventual rebranding to MOSTown. Now, there is a new and modern KFC located on the second floor at shop 2107. Opening hours are 7.30am to 10pm daily.
This KFC has the self-ordering machines, like what you will find at McDonald's and local Cantonese fast food eateries around the city. These are touch screen order machines with English language instructions. Just tap the items or meal sets that you want to order. You can choose dine-in or take-away and can pay with Octopus or various other credit card types at the self-order machine.
After ordering take your receipt which will have a fulfilment number at the top, just like if you ordered at the normal counter with the cashier. Wait until you see your number posted on the food pick-up board. Then pick up your tray of food and have your KFC.
I stopped by this KFC recently for lunch. Ordered the Zinger Chicken Burger set (H$43) which came with curly fries and a soft drink. The chicken fillet was fine, the breading a bit greasy, not crispy like the McDonald's it spicy chicken sandwich. Tomato and lettuce were fresh and the bun was fine. The curly fries were soft and bit greasy as well. Neither were that good, below average for what you should expect even at fast-food restaurants around Hong Kong.
Overall, the zinger sandwich was a 'meh' order and unfortunately more expensive than the chicken sandwich set at McDonald's, which imo tastes better as well. In short, there is a reason McDs branches are so busy in HK, while KFCs usually lack queues and crowds. They are simply off the mark on quality and price at KFC. However, they are conveniently located in places and it may be interesting for some to try the...
Read moreI've only been to this branch twice, and on both occasions the staff took liberties with my order by replacing my sauces and sides with something else because what I originally ordered was out of stock; no explanation or communication; just assuming I would accept what I was given. Objectively the food is fine, but the disrespectful service leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Either train your staff or update your ordering kiosks so that your customers can see when items are out of stock and avoid...
Read moreI have been here a few times and each time has been disappointing.
The chicken is never hot, it’s only warm, it is dry and not crispy. Looks and tastes like it has been cooked several hours before serving.
The mash potato is the same. A dry mess with evaporated gravy.
Jolibee is much better, shame there isn’t one...
