Read moreI visited Yau Veggie Bistro on Boxing Day and had their special Christmas menu. The menu looked quite high-end and promising, featuring dishes like veggie tartare, Wellington, and lamb chops, which definitely raised my expectations. However, while the presentation was good, the flavors fell a bit short of what I was hoping for. The dishes were okay but lacked excitement or that “wow” factor I expected for the price.
The dessert selection, including the Mont Blanc and sabayon, was overly sweet and didn’t balance the meal well. For a place positioned as premium, I also expected better service—while it wasn’t bad, it didn’t quite match the price point or the upscale impression the menu gave.
The restaurant wasn’t too busy, which made for a relaxed atmosphere, but it also made me wonder why there weren’t more diners on Boxing Day. Overall, it’s a decent vegetarian option in Hong Kong, and I appreciate the creative menu, but there’s room for improvement in both flavor and service to truly justify the premium pricing. Giving it 4 stars because it’s still a solid effort, but I’d love to see more finesse...
Read morevery lovely place for vegetarian meal! the place is posh and spacious. food was pre-ordered through whatsapp in advance so we just enjoyed our chat upon arrival, then the food would come in a right pace. the chicken corona tasted good and i'd recommend it. for mains, we have the recently very popular wrapped fish. it's cooked with sauce, lemon, rosemary and olive, all the flavour was well kept within the wrap when cooking. we loved it! then came to dessert i had the vegan creme burlee, the texture wasn't as smooth as the normal version but i still like it, it's like softened cheese (texture) and sorry i can't really describe it ;P
really appreciate the staff here they're very polite and speak softly, not to spoil the lovely romantic environment. we had a long nice chat here with good food....
