Lunch set priced at either hkd300 or hkd500. The cheaper one will have more sushi while the other one will have more varieties like sashimi and stream fish. Interestingly they have all the fish written in Japanese only. We went for the HKD500. Overall quality was good, comparable with those in more prime locations. However, it tried to impress the general crowd and had overdone seasoning in my humble opinion. They tried to add extra layer of toppings like spring onions, ginger, radish, grilled shrimp roes, etc. on top of the original sushi. It added extra flavours for sure, but it sometimes killed the original taste of the fish, it was especially evident in the first few dishes which were supposed to start light, delicate and elegant. It would appeal to many to be more flavorful and looked better on pictures but lost the spirit of original sushi to feel the seasonality and the flavour in different fishes... having said that the overall quality was still good for the price. Also need to note it could be quite noisy compared with those in more prime location. You might say it's friendly and causal ambient that the chefs made conversations with customers (and all chefs speak Cantonese). But neither the chefs nor the customers control their voices, making it quite unpleasant for us, who prefer to enjoy the...
Read moreMy husband and I came to HK for a winter holiday and last week my loving son and daughter-in-law, along with our 5-yo grandson had lunch here. We have had many amazing Japanese food in HK, but this one tops the lot! The staff were attentive, explained every item they served, giving us profound knowledge of the origins of the food and the way they are served with minute details. Omasake style, eating by the bar, is one of the most exciting and authentic Japanese dining experiences we have ever come across where the chef pays attention to detail, interact with diners, and celebrate every item served as if it is a piece of art. Don’t miss this fabulous opportunity to dine here where the most freshest sushi is served, we travelled many thousands of miles to sample this delicious delicacy. The price range is befitting of the best quality ingredients, service and atmosphere that cannot be found on this side...
Read moreSome of the best sushi I've ever eaten. Each piece was cut and prepared with such care. I went for the lunch set, where many high quality cuts were prepared and garnished in front of me. All the pieces were seasonal and very fresh. Of note was the shrimp, which was garnished with the burnt innards of the head. It didn't taste like anything I have ever tried! The medium fatty tuna was cut into many small slices before being placed on the rice. This enhanced the melt in your mouth effect beautifully. Whilst eating the sushi we also were given high-quality Japanese pickles which were delicious and endlessly replaced. I really rate this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious yet affordable lunch sushi set...
