Hang Heung Cake Shop — Restaurant in Yuen Long District

Really wonderful traditional Chinese pastries in Yuen Long. Opened in 1920, Hang Heung Cake Shop is one of the longest-standing traditional pastry shops in Hong Kong. By now, it has well exceeded one hundred years of history.

At the height of Hang Heung Cake Shop’s popularity in the 1980s, it produced about 25,000 pieces of pastries per day. During those times, when Mid-Autumn Festival was around the corner, Hang Heung hired one hundred cooks to wok fry the lotus paste (more below) throughout the day. A place that sells traditional cakes and bakery products. An old business known by local Hong Kong people. Finger sized snacks are cheap which cost under $10. At festive seasons, this store gets really crowded and busy as people are buying their products as gifts. However, normal weekdays, not much people in here. Outdated old fashion way to make small purchase where you have to queue up at the back of the shop to order what you want and buy a handwritten ticket. Terrible customer service and overrated place ! These people wouldn't accept certain HK currencies as it was slightly 'untidy' !!! I mean WTH !!!!!??? If I cannot use certain HK dollars in HONG KONG where the hell am I suppose to use it ? In Sweden and Brazil ???!!! And the cashier only gave us half the items we bought but paid in FULL !!!
