I really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. There were live shows with a mariachi band and a salsa band.
The food was not super authentic for Mexican, but it was delicious.
There are too many tables set up because it's a popular place. Our table was near the restroom and we had a constant flow of customers and waiters trying to squeeze by us. There wasn't much space between our table and the next one, so people were constantly bumping into our table. We were also seated under an air conditioner and we were cold after a while.
We ordered drinks, nachos and main plates around 8:45 pm. The drinks and nachos arrived fairly quickly and we finished those. We watched the mariachi show. It ended and a while later the salsa band started. At 10:15, we still hadn't received our food. We didn't see our waiter again, so we asked another waiter about our food. He said that the other waiter forgot to put in our order. That seemed strange as we received our drinks and nachos. He put in our order and the food came within ten minutes. Later, I signaled to him to get the bill and pay. He was busy taking an order at a nearby table and indicated that he would come over after he took that order. A few minutes later he was at another table and then at the ordering computer. A few minutes after that I saw him standing near the computer, not doing anything and I signaled to him again. He had forgotten that I asked for him. He brought the bill and we were able to pay.
Maybe the waiters are overworked or we got some that didn't have experience, but the experience could have been so much better.
I still enjoyed my experience and I might give the restaurant...
Read moreI don't normally give a restaurant a one star but I think I will here. The only positive trait about this place is the decoration/atmosphere are kind of neat (although it's got foul language on the walls for some reason).
As for negatives:
The food was priced like major city US prices, but was of lower quality than most food I've had in Colombia. It had good presentation/looked beautiful, but the flavor and portion sizes were very lacking.
The staff also searched our backpack upon entry and forced us to pour out our water bottles, and then did not allow us to get tap water at the table! If we wanted water, we had to purchase bottled water from the bar at $6,000 CLP/bottle! Somehow, agua de nacimiento is the cheapest thing they have. It's a scam.
They also brought us the wrong order and did not believe us when we told them that we got something else, although they did agree to swap out the food eventually. Relatively long wait times.
So be prepared to pay US prices for food that looks pretty but is mediocre at best, and you're pretty much forced to either not have water or pay their extremely marked up...
Read moreMy fiancée and I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. We were greeted at the door by the host Mauricio who stayed with us the entire time to make sure we were properly taken care of. Being that we don’t speak Spanish, Mauricio who spoke amazing English, helped us with translations and menu suggestions. Our server Lina was amazing as well. Even with the language barrier, she did everything possible to make us feel welcome. They even gave us the code to the WiFi. Now on to the food and drinks. We ordered the Catrina and the blue zombie which were strong and pretty. They were presented with dry ice to give a smoky effect. We ordered the chicken quesadillas and the pastor tacos as appetizers which we were warned that it’d be too much food. And yes, it was way too much food for just 2 ppl, but we packed the rest to go. For our entree we had the ribs. They were super tender and full of flavor. Of course we had to order dessert which was the chocolate sphere. Presentation, service, taste, everything was 10 out of 10....
