Built in 1678 and rebuilt from 1930 to 1942, this Gothic style church is and always will be the icon that distinguishes the city of Cali. A witness of the development of a happy, extroverted, sweet, noble and selestial city, not for nothing is known as "The Branch of Heaven."

It is an wonderful city and its church insigna adorns its beauty, being a mandatory stop for every tourist.

To get there, you can take the masive transport system anywhere in the city, and get off at the "La Ermita" stop station in the center of the city. Cost: 0.8 € / person x trip) Opening hours: 07:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m....

La famosa capilla de la Ermita esta localizada en la zona centro de Cali, frente el CAM, el boulevard del río y la estación del sistema integrado de transporte que lleva su nombre.

Esta cerca de todos los centros comerciales, negocios y zona bancaria del área central de la ciudad y a orillas del rio Cali.

Originalmente la iglesia de la Ermita fue una construcción pajiza de comienzos del siglo XVII, establecida en las cercanías del río Cali y dedicada a Nuestra Señora de la Soledad y al Señor de la Caña.

En 1942, se construyó la iglesia que se ve hoy en día, la cual es uno de los referentes del paisaje arquitectónico de la Ciudad de Cali. La actual construcción es una iglesia neogótica en miniatura, y como muchas iglesias neogóticas en América está inspirada en la Catedral de Ulm, Alemania.

La nueva ermita está dedicada a Nuestra Señora de los Dolores y en su interior conserva la antigua imagen del Señor de la Caña en el altar lateral izquierdo.

Ademas de ser uno de los puntos turísticos mas famosos de la ciudad es el punto de salida y llegada de las rutas del sistema integrado de transporte que cubren el sur, el norte y el oriente de Cali.

Fairy tale like church that we like a lot and enjoy very much. This church is close to the park where you can take a nice walk and talking with friends in the early morning or in the afternoon. The place is quite safe, that compare to many other places, we have seen many local people using cell phone on the street that in many other places in Cali, it might considered dangerous....
