MOCAFE — Restaurant in Quindío

Best moccacino in Colombia so far. If you're in Filandia, come and enjoy European style coffees. Cakes also looked good, but we were just hiding from the rain, no food for us then. On the mocca: Outstanding chocolate flavour, strong coffee taste and velvety frothed milk. Perfect! Maybe because of the Belgium chocolate the sell? Or perhaps the also available German chocolate?

We also had a Latte macchiato, it was indeed weak, too weak for our liking, had to order a doppio to fix it.

After tasting coffees in 5 different cafes in Filandia, I was happy to find Mocafe! All of the people there were very nice, the owner speaks great English and is happy to share information about his coffee. I bought a bag of the coffee that was in the natural bag. As I continued to travel around Colombia, I was constantly tempted by this heavenly smelling coffee! When I returned to the U.S. and opened the bag, it did not disappoint!! Great coffee, which isn’t easy to find in Filandia. However I hoped that the distinctly unfriendly service was an aberration on my first visit. Sadly, on giving it a second try, again the service was what can only be described as surly (and no, it wasn’t a language issue). When most places in Filandia are so incredibly warm and friendly, it’s a shame the staff in this place with its great coffee don’t seem to enjoy their work. I hope I was just unlucky on...
