Restaurante Ombú Steak & Fish House — Restaurant in Santa Marta

Overpriced restaurant with an ok service .

Their main dishes are steaks . But whoever is in charge of the kitchen doesn't even know how to cook steaks, honestly . "Their" well done steaks are actually medium . Medium are rare . And so on . So you get the idea . I ordered a well done steak and it was all "pink", totally raw, horrible . After discussing this with the waitress you can tell how wrong they are in terms of getting the meat at the desired cooking level . They think "well done" is mostly pink and "shoe leather" is "well done". We argued about these simple concepts and it was a total waste of time.

We also ordered french fries with one of the dishes . We were informed they were not available almost 20 min after we ordered .

I have no idea how this place has so many good reviews. Food is definitely overpriced and portions are really small.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this place ....

The man that owns and operates this steakhouse puts so much love and attention into his craft that it was clear from the moment I walked in the door. I ordered the tomahawk steak and I was food-gasaming the entire time I was eating. It is a monster cut of beef and the first time I have eaten a tomahawk. It was cooked and prepared to perfection and the owner stopped by many times to make sure everything was perfect for us. The wait staff was excellent and if you are a steak lover, I HIGHLY recommend this place. I have been working on this steak for an hour and a half and am loving every minute. I have been in Columbia for going on two weeks and this is the best meal I have had. You will only regret it if...

A great destination in Santa Marta I what you prefer is grilled beef and seafood.

Octopus is very good, served on top of a Yuca Puree, one of three options here.

We shared the seafood for two, Great plate served broiled with parmesan cheese.

There is also a soft chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream that deserves a taste.

Good for families...
