Akuamarina Hotel — Hotel in Santa Marta

The staff received us with a very warm welcome, Lisseth was an incredibly kind person at the 24/7 reception and was always looking to help with a big smile on her face.

The beds are so incredibly comfortable, plus you get A/C and a big TV. There's no fridge in the room.

The location is great because you're in a walking distance from all the restaurants and parks, just a couple hundred meters and you're there already. Being that close to everything and everyone you feel secure that nothing bad is going to happen.

The only reason why I can't give it 5 stars is because there was no warning by anyone on the staff about the fact that the water is not drinkable. We got a severe intoxication from drinking a few glasses of tap water.. when we mentioned this to the person at the reception she mentioned that it constantly happens to their guests and just laughed about it in our faces.

I wonder why they haven't decided to warn their guests if it is a constant problem. Other than that it was a great...

Cute little hotel very close to the historic center of Santa Marta

Liked · This small hotel is at a walking distance from the historic district of Santa Marta. It is unpretentious but decorated with taste. Our room was clean and comfy. It had A/C, which was a plus given the high temperature outside. The breakfast was good and filling. The staff at the front desk were polite and helpful.

Disliked · I don't think that the room was equipped with a safe, unfortunately. In addition, we didn't have Wi-Fi in the room. We had to go to the front desk or to the restaurant...

The hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the center of the old town. I found the hotel very nice. Very quiet compared to a lot of other hotels in the center. It has rooms off of a central courtyard that I think helped keeping the noise out, and was quite pretty. The room was great. Clean and comfy bed, good bathroom. The water pretty was a little weak in the shower, but was okay.||The staff was very accommodating.
