La Concha de la Lora — Restaurant in Carmen

So I went out last night for my birthday. I got punched in the face by a bouncer after 5 hours of being there, for helping a girl get her balloon (put her on my shoulder and asked to the bouncer in Spanish if I could explain what we we're doing). I ended up with a bloody lip no cops showing up after 3 calls and and appearance. The other bouncers tried to jump me when I asked for the man's name who works there who sucker punched me. If you are a male I don't recommend this place in the slightest. After following Costa Rican law the cops still never showed. I never hit the guy (I'm trained in mma and the bouncer hits like a girl). I never asked for trouble... By bday after spending 2 years here in Costa rica alone and going out with friends from MEDSCHOOL. I honestly swear I didn't do a single thing the entire night to deserve that treatment or lack of attention from both the cops and the red cross (who saw me spitting blood). I do not recommend this place if you are a decent male. It's 5:57am and I'm just getting home from the hospital, after they told me the cops probably won't...

Probably my go-to place in La Cali for a great time with friends. It’s within “el mercadito” or connected to it so there are multiple bars within the place and different spaces with different vibes, seating/standing options and music. You’re bound to find a corner or spot you like no matter what you’re in the mood for. I’ve come here for a chill drink (early) in the mercadito area and also closed the bar down on other nights, dancing the night away in the concha de la lora area. No vuelvo a ir a este bar, el que consideraba el mejor bar del país. Resulta que el sábado pasado después de hacer fila (que ya deporsi sus filas son eternas) nos negaron la entrada, todo por que uno de mis amigos tiene los brazos tatuados. ¡Eso es discriminación! Ahora resulta que los tatuajes son armas y que con ellos va a matar a alguien... Un bar al que hemos ido muchas veces y nunca hemos causado ningún problema. No fuimos los únicos a los que les negaron la entrada, a otros hombres también, y ojo, solo a hombres les negaban la entrada por los tatuajes. Es una estupidez, falta de respeto a nuestra dignidad y al tiempo que desperdiciamos en esa fila. Es una lástima, pero con esta mentalidad este bar va a quebrar.

De los mejores bares del país, un excelente lugar para pasarla bien con los amigos y bailar. Tienen a los mejores djs. El bar cuenta con diferentes ambientes, los cuales siempre pasan llenos. Las mujeres más hermosas recurren a este bar. Se recomienda llegar temprano para evitar la larga fila para entrar.
