For 31 days I had seen a new type of bird every single day on my Costa Rica trip. I had 1 hour left before having to leave for the airport and I thought I'd try one park to find one bird that was new. Though this park is small and busy, if you look up you'll see many little birds flying around having fun. I found my final new bird here and I couldn't have been happier flying home. There's also a cafe called Otoya that is around the corner that has the best coffee in town. Go here and rest my friend, you deserve it.

Good trails/paths, all with concrete. A lot of squirrels along the path. If you aren't lucky enough to watch the crater just be patient, sometimes there are holes in the fog that allows you to see the crater for a few minutes, sometimes seconds. My advice, go first to the lagoon, if the lagoon is clear you need to get back to the main crater because, in a couple of minutes, the crater will be clear (if there is wind). You can pay admission using credit card, but parking lot just using cash. Bring your camera!

Tradicional Park with historical markers in the heart of downtown San José. Probably best to avoid this place after dark, not for the danger per say, but for the fact that it turns into a pick-up place for, we'll, let's just say, lonely people. Otherwise, during the day, it's a great place and safe, even for children. This park is also the place where many celebrations and fairs take place. It is also a standard stop for...
