We ordered a margarita. The two tables which were seated ten minutes after we had arrived received their margaritas within minutes. Another ten minutes later, we cancelled the margarita as it seemed that ours wasn't even being made. Can not be sure if it had to do with us being foreigners, but I won't rule it out. So we ordered a bottle of beer to speed up the process, as my guest was quite thirsty at this point. Another ten minutes later the waiter arrived with a glass of water, no beer. We reordered the beer once again, this time it arrived. The food here is generally of good quality, although over-priced for what it is - $20 to $30 per plate. You can find similar dishes at other places for half of that price. This was my third time here, but this time, my own dish was very greasy and over-seasoned to the point of tasting bitter. I was hungry after a long morning of driving and we were on a tight schedule, so i chose to overlook it. I had made the recommendation to my guests to come here, as i had previously enjoyed my meals here. Unfortunately, after this embarrassing experience, I will probably not be returning nor recommending it...
Read moreOutstanding food! Service and organization could be improved so it corresponds with the food. We had grilled octopus, octopus ceviche and very generous portion of surf & turf, Pina colada and guaro sour. Everything was really really good. The only downside is that restaurant doesn't feel cozy. Maybe it's because of the layout of the tables and lack of booths. Maybe it was a sketchy looking guy outside restaurant trying to help people parking even though nobody asked him for it. Our first waiter (bold guy with tattoed hands) was not very friendly and not very attentive, he assumed I wanted a Margarita even though I never ordered it. Another person brings food, 3rd person takes empty plates, 4th person brought dessert and check, 5th person sits in a galss booth and takes payments. Prices in the menu already include 23% service and tax, but later in the check they don't have them and it is confusing. I've never seen...
Read moreThis place near the center of Liberia offers some of, if not the best, food of any restaurant in the country. The octopus dishes are the best I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The cervices are fresh and amazing. The steak carpaccio is excellent. The service is fast, and while not white tablecloth, very attentive, especially for Costa Rica. I first went on a recommendation, and have been back several times over the past months. Much of the food is inspired by Costa Rican traditional dishes with a mix of Peruvian and the chef’s own creativity. Lots of the ingredients come from Guanacaste. The place seems always filled with a mix of mostly people from Liberia and many tourists. It’s not exactly a romantic atmosphere. The food takes center stage here. It’s a place you can bring a big group or a family. Don’t miss this if you are in the area. My photos don’t do...
