I had the pleasure of dining at sabor del libano , a Lebanese culinary haven nestled right here in the US. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the fusion of traditional Lebanese charm and modern elegance in the restaurant's design.
The menu offered a symphony of flavors that paid homage to Lebanon's rich gastronomic heritage. The mezze selection was a captivating journey through taste, with dishes like creamy hummus, smoky baba ganoush, and crispy falafel that were reminiscent of the bustling markets of Beirut. Each bite felt like a culinary exploration of the region's finest ingredients and spices.
The main courses were a delightful continuation of this culinary voyage. The shawarma, whether lamb or chicken, was a masterpiece of perfectly seasoned, tender meat that practically melted in the mouth. The kebabs were a medley of succulent flavors, each skewer telling its own story of marination and grilling mastery. The attention to detail in recreating the flavors of Lebanon was evident in every dish. The vibrant salads burst with freshness, and the aromatic rice pilaf transported me to a Lebanese family feast.
The service was impeccable, with staff members who not only had a deep knowledge of the menu but were also passionate about sharing the cultural significance behind each dish. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they ensured that every aspect of the dining experience was tailored to perfection.
Dessert was a grand finale that left me speechless. The kunafa was a delicate balance of sweet and crispy, while the rosewater-infused ice cream was a refreshing way to conclude the meal.
Sabor Del Libano is a true testament to the global appeal of Lebanese cuisine. It seamlessly blends tradition with innovation, and its dedication to authenticity creates an unforgettable dining experience that transports you to the heart of Lebanon, even if you're miles away. Whether you're a connoisseur of Middle Eastern food or simply looking for an extraordinary culinary adventure, it is a must-visit destination that promises to tantalize your taste buds and leave you with...
Read moreIt's a pleasure writing a review for this place, as the owners run the restaurant themselves and really made our meal a very enjoyable experience.
We wanted to try everything, so with their help we ordered one of their combos for one (which had a bunch of things on it), a schwarma sandwich (we split it), and a stuffed eggplant.
I'd avoid the eggplant as I was expecting a more substantial entree, and what we got was a baby eggplant or maybe two which were pickled. Not terrible, just not what the picture in the menu looked like.
The schwarma was decent, not great, but the fresh juices (try to morro)the hummus, baba, kibbe, and an empanada (yup) were the standouts. The falafel was okay; I prefer the soft green parsley kind to this harder browinsh looking style. The owner brought out a couple of samples of things for us to try next time, such as a different style of hummous, which we greatly appreciated and look forward to trying next time.
All in all, a good experience, well...
Read moreWe love Arabic food and after a long flight from NY to San Jose we were drooling just thinking where to find and to eat a great feast of Arabic food as we eat it in NY. After searching we found “ El sabor del Líbano”. Since, the very moment, we were delighted with the atmosphere of restaurant and the so friendly and seamless attention and service of his owner. Moreover, to add a big plus, the food was exquisite; exactly what we were looking for. As an executive chef and author of a cookbook and travelogue “From boiling water to master in the European cuisine” by Janisa Brunstein, I go traveling the world to find the best authentic good food; and I know what is good with authority. My family and I won’t hesitate to recommend this place and for sure, next time in San Jose, this restaurant will be...
