This place popped up as highly rated when I was looking for places to eat in Monte Verde and I am so glad we went. The ambiance is awesome, though a little loud. They have a pretty stellar view from their enclosed dining patio and the staff were incredibly friendly and upbeat. My brothers shared the flight of beer and enjoyed the ability to try and bunch then both got their favorites. My mom had a hazy IPA which she really liked and I had the passion fruit Hard Seltzer which was good, way better than any canned hard seltzer I've ever had. We also had dinner and two of us got the burger which was delicious. It has a sweetness to it and the sauce, bacon and veggies really bring it together. Great pickles too. My mom got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and enjoyed it immensely, though she didn't eat the bun. The chips and fries that came with those meals were kinda meh, definitely coulda used more salt. But overall the sandwiches were awesome. My other brother got the wings and though he enjoyed them he said they weren't really anything special. The beers really were the highlight though. Great selection and all tasty. Highly recommend visiting, especially if you like beer. They are a bit pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. Special shout out to our waiter Ross. He took great care of us and was chatty and engaging. The other waiter was also really friendly but I never...
Read moreI’m all for a relaxed service experience (lived in Miami for 4 yrs LOL) but waiting 30 minutes just to pay, asking two servers 3 separate times, all while the restaurant is half empty? The cherry on top was the second time we asked our waiter (third time total) he said “yes the check is being prepared and will come soon” before he serves another group, clears another table, and THEN brings over the card reader 5 minutes later and still tried to get us to pay an additional tip. Like the check didn’t even need to be prepared… I don’t mean to be a Karen about it, but we purposely arrived for an early dinner at 4:30pm so we could watch the sunset at 6pm…and then we miss sunset because the service was so slow.
Food was quite good, it did take ~45 minutes to come but we didn’t mind because we had budgeted enough time for slower service…should’ve realized that was a red flag. And tbh prices are rather steep.
I judge a place by whether I’d come back. And I wouldn’t come back here. Minus one star for poor service, minus a second star because we missed an insane sunset because of all...
Read moreI had just seen a sloth on a walking tour and Dani the guide said we had to go here for the burgers. What an absolutely legendary recommendation! Don't get me wrong I love normal Costa Rican food but sometimes you just need a burger and a beer. Both here are bloody too notch!! I recommend the IPA or Pale Ale, interesting that the Pale Ale has more of a hop kick to it. The golden larger is your standard if you're not a hop lover. The Texana burger hit all the right places with top quality beef and finally some perfectly cooked bacon! Loved it so much a tear came to my eye. My fiance had the drunken chicken salad and was really happy as she wanted something lighter. Definitely go here if you want to be happy. Also shout out to the napkin dispenser, never has it been easier to be clean without pulling 20 ripped napkins out of those terrible cheap versions at other places. It's the little things...
