We enjoyed staying here for 3 nights. We stayed at the family villa. There are 3 beds and we could fit 3 kids but Michelle saw our little one and kindly set up another bed for him. The room was big. Cute decoration and very clean. No TV or phone which is totally fine but I wish they have some board games we can play at night. Free Wifi but doesn't work well in the room. The kitchen was very useful. Less than 10 min. drive to St.Elena and 3 min. walk to Night Tour. Breakfast was included in the price but you need to prepare. They provide fruit, bread, fresh juice and eggs for in your room breakfast. We loved that style as well so we don't need to worry about the time. The owner, Michelle, was super nice and helpful but I couldn't communicate with her since I cannot speak any Spanish or French. Fernando, who speaks English, was there during our stay and helped us to arrange the tour. We highly recommend this place and we look forward to staying at this...
Read moreVery cosy ‘home stay’ with beautiful views of the cloud forest however it wasn’t close to town so difficult to get lunch/dinner when the accommodation doesn’t have a 24 hour reception / concierge (I had to call a restaurant in the town to get them to order me a taxi!). ||The owners don’t speak any English at all and really don’t help with the situation (they don’t really seem to care and kept speaking back in French) so be prepared to have lengthy / confusing conversations to try to understand one another. ||The accommodation is clean, the fresh breakfast (eggs, juice, jam, bread and fruit) that is delivered daily is a nice touch (although wasn’t expecting to cook) and the grounds are well kept. ||We found it quite difficult to organise the daily activities in the accommodation and think this is something that can be improved on. ||Overall a nice stay for a few days to explore Monteverde but a lot of...
Read moreWe were lucky enough to be tipped off to this gem in Monteverde from a friend. David is a gracious host. Our cabin was immaculate upon arrival and we were greeted with a fridge complemented with all the staples you could ask for (along with farm fresh eggs courtesy of very local chickens!). Great working kitchen, his and her bathroom sinks along with a nice large shower, lovely cozy private outdoor sitting area - fantastic comfort for the price. David himself takes great pride in sharing the history of the property and guidance to visitors about the area, what to see, where to eat, etc.
Located minutes from 'the town, there's also a local craft brewery worth a visit right next door. Such a great vibe that we stayed longer - and that had nothing to do with the fact that David, as am I, is a huge Rush fan! With luck I'll...
