Clouds and Coffee Restaurante & Pizzería — Restaurant in Monteverde

We checked in at the Mar Inn after a LONG day of traveling, which included flights delays on our connecting flight in the US and traffic from San Jose to Monteverde. We decided to eat at Clouds and Coffee for the convenience, as it was 8 p.m. It was exactly what we needed in our exhausted state. The atmosphere felt very authentic Costa Rican with lots of wood and a breeze blowing through the windows. The service was outstanding. Josué had amazing energy and was easy to talk to and answered our questions about the area. We ordered the evening’s specials, so didn’t read over the regular menu. The food was delicious!! Thank you Josué and the chef for making our first night in Costa Rica...

I was looking for a very local place to have a quiet dinner, meaning set back from busy roads where traffic (especially motorcycles) can deafen you as you eat. I landed at this small restaurant far from the street and decided to try the pizza on a lark. I'm from New York, where we know pizza, so perhaps you can imagine my surprise when I was served the most delicious pizza I've ever had - not just in Costa Rica but anywhere! Absolutely fantastic thin-crust pizza, and a lovely waiter who was attentive and personable - an amazing dinner and completely unexpected!
