Italian Restaurant y Pizzeria Carolina — Restaurant in Puerto Jiménez

Holà/ Hello/Bonjour! We passed by Punto Jimenez on our way to our Ecolodge. We were really hungry, it was a long ride. We spotted the « ltalian » and because we all love ltalian food we said «  hey what are the chances of eating ltalian in this little town »,so we did. It was a great surprise, the owner is actually… ltalian, already a good start! The selection is great, the food and service were excellent! The portions are of a good size too. We had a very warm welcome (sorry for not speaking Spanish😕), but our short discussion with the owner was nice and we shared a few laughs. This restaurant reminded us of home, we ate well and felt good. Highly recommended!...

As an Italian who has lived in Costa Rica for quite some time, I have to say that Gaetano, the owner and chef of this pizzeria, makes some amazing food! His home-made gnocchi is mouthwateringly delicious. The pizza has the most perfect crust, thin and crunchy, and anything but shy in regards to the toppings!

I'd also like to give a shout-out to Rocio, the wonderful waitress, who is always friendly and offers very efficient service!

My best friend and I stayed a bit over a week in Puerto Jimenez, and this restaurant was our favourite in town! We ate here three times, and always enjoyed the food. If you decide to dine here, you will need to put your Spanish to use, as English is not always readily spoken. Street parking was easy and convenient each time.
