La Parrillita de Pepe Montes de Oca — Restaurant in San Pedro

My hotel was across the street, or should I say Freeway, hard to get to. The atmosphere is nice and my waiter was very friendly. I ordered the ribeye steak. I ordered it medium, it came quickly but was cold in the center and not cooked. The recook was fine. It was rather thin but the taste was good and tender. It came with choice of garnishes, or sides, I ordered mashed potatoes and a salad. But during the meal I noticed I got steamed vegetables and cole slaw. I'm thinking I may have gotten someone else's meal, or my waiter just doesn't listen. He spoke very well in English and even repeated the order back to me. I had to look for him to get more water and then informed him of the side selection. He offered to bring them out, but by the my steak was done. I think I'll pass...

This place looks good when you first come in, the menu has lots of variety and they have lots of drinks and cocktails as well. We asked for meat, 2 churrascos and 1 tenderloin, asked for different terms, 1 blue and 2 medium rare and they mixed all of them so we got incorrect ones, the meat was very soft though. Vinimos a un almuerzo tardío. El servicio es bueno y la comida no dura mucho en salir (una espera de 15-25 minutos; eso sí, fuimos tipo 3-4pm).

Empezamos con unas empanadas de carne. Estaban ricas. Y nos encantó el chile picante de la casa.

Yo ordené una bandeja paisa. Es un platillo que puede asustar por si gran tamaño. Sin embargo, es bastante rico en proteína, por si prefieren empezar a comer por ahí. Para mí, la carne tenía poco sabor (a la carne molida le faltó amor). Los cubaces estaban sabrosos y la ensalada buena en porción, me encantó que trajera una buena porción de aguacate.

Mi acompañante ordenó un "hot dog", pero de chorizo. Literal es un plato completo con pan: traía chorizo, un huevo de codorniz, ensalada de repollo, queso, etc.

La relación precio-cantidad de este restaurante está muy bien. Hay que tener cuidado con los refrescos porque sí son generosos. Eso sí, hay que preguntar com anticipación opciones de endulzado, porque los refrescos por lo general vienen muy cargados de azúcar. Son deliciosos, eso sí.
