Go here!! The food was absolutely EPIC!! Met the owner of the restaurant, Avatar, he is absolutely amazing and super cool to hang out with - we ended up spending 4 hours there without noticing.
Avatar created us two dishes not on the menu, one of which was a coconut based curry with fish (non-spicy, sweet and creamy) and the other was a super spicy chicken curry. Both were such amazing compliments to each other, I was able to eat both (one bite of coconut curry and one bite of super spicy; and normally i can not eat spicy!!). The flavors were so amazing, you could taste the different flavors in each bite as it slowly dissolved on your tongue one flavor at a time ... I can't even begin to describe how epic the dishes were. Let's also not forget the garlic naan ♥ My absolute 'boring' but FAVORITE dish ... mmm garlic naan.
Lastly, you must absolutely try the PISTA KULFI (Indian style pistachio ice cream) and MANGO KULFI (Indian style mango ice cream). They are not just your regular ice cream, cut into tiny little cubes and served on a little plate, it may not look like much but it was the perfect amount of savory post-dinner sweetness. I can't even decide on which flavor i like more - maybe the mango - but both are good.
Definitely recommend stopping by this place - there is plentiful parking out front in the plaza. The value for the quality and flavor of this place is reasonable and I have to say, I think I like this place more than Taj Mahal (around the corner). Both are good, but if I would definitely...
Read moreI've been visiting this Indian restaurant in San Jose (Costa Rica) regularly for the past two months, and it genuinely feels like a second home. As someone who traveled here from India, I never thought I’d find such authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine in the heart of Central America. But this place is a hidden gem—each dish is rich in taste, made with love, and brings back the comfort of home-cooked meals.
From buttery naans and perfectly spiced curries to flavorful biryanis and delicious chaats, everything on the menu is consistently top-notch. The quality, freshness, and authenticity of the food have kept me coming back again and again.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They are some of the warmest and most genuine people I've met—always greeting with a smile, remembering your preferences, and making sure you feel taken care of. Their hospitality and attention to detail make the whole experience even more special.
Whether you're an Indian living abroad, a traveler missing home, or someone curious to explore Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. It’s not just a meal—it’s a...
Read moreDisaster! This was our 2nd time here, 1st visit was very good. This visit was an all-time bad experience. Will not return. We were the only customers and it was slow. Papadam to start were slightly burnt, appetizer was the highlight, it was honestly good. We ordered the eggplant dish and garlic Naan. No garlic on Naan, rubbery dough, and burnt. Worst Naan I have ever eaten. How do you mess up Naan? Eggplant was very spicy and we realized we had not specified no/low spice. We informed the waitress and she said she would take it back to the kitchen. She came back a few minutes later with a "new" dish, dropped it on the table and walked off. It was the exact same dish, very spicy. We called her over and she was rude and argued that there was no chili put in the dish. It was terrible. We did not eat it, paid our bill (quite pricy, I might add), and left. No effort made to apologize, offer alternative, or even acknowledge the situation. Of the 100+ reviews I have written on various platforms, this is probably my 3rd negative review, and this was...
