Very quiet (for a place like San Jose) and cozy place. We did stay for three week's and we had a great time. At first we checked in a "normal room" and it felt a bit like a cellar, the window with a look on a narrow piece of garden, quite dark and without a nice view. Then we wanted to upgrade and got to a seperate building, for about 180 Dollar extra we've got a really nice room on the secound floor with a beautiful view over the city and the surroundings, a big balkony with seats and only one more adjacent room. The room we had at first would be ok for short stayer, or late nighties. 4 different breakfast plates (one is a nutishing smoothie for dental patients, so maybe you want to count 3 dishes) where ok. I disliked the english breakfast with their sausages and stuff, but the traditional CR rice with beans in the morning... well, i have to admit i did enjoy it! Only 4 parking slots inside, some more on the outside. But it's quite and seemed safe around the hotel, so didnt worry us much. The staff was really nice and we had always a clean room. We had some issues with the electricity, it went out and on, mostly at night, for about four minutes, and the paking space was an issue, because you needed to move if anyone parked in front of you and needed to leave early. But all in all we had a great time and i recommend this hotel to anyone, long term or just hopping in. We will definately...
Read moreThis is a hotel that calls itself a "boutique hotel" and it has nothing like that! At first the service was good, but when they gave us the room it was dirty, the TV and air conditioning controls were not working, the rooms had ants everywhere, the coffee maker had old water, stagnant who knows how long ago. But my fiancé and I decided to stay because of the location, it's the only good thing it offers. The breakfasts are the same every day, and out of only 3 options they offer, some days they only had 2 or 1. It is NOT at all the breakfast of the photos!!!!. There was one day I asked for salt to put on my eggs and they told me they didn't have any...they were in a kitchen, how is that possible!!???. Anyway, we were still there because of the location. The icing on the cake is that yesterday, we scheduled a tour that would take us a few hours, so we would have to return to the hotel at 12 pm, to which we were told that we could not leave our things because check out was at 11 am, otherwise we would have to pay another night!!!! All hotels give 1 hour or even 30 minutes extra for courtesy, and check out was at 12 pm!!!! We had to put up with so many things and in the end they can't even do us a favor no matter that we are tourists!!!! If you go to Costa Rica, it is better to pay this money in an American hotel or another one that has real quality...
Read moreOut of Bounds in Escazú, San José, is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome and smooth check-in made us feel right at home. Our room was spotlessly clean—basic but had everything we needed, all in perfect working order. The stunning views from the balcony and the upstairs terrace were such a treat, and the hot water in the shower was a nice bonus.
The area felt safe and secure, which added to our peace of mind. Breakfast was a delight—freshly made, with delicious orange juice, and the lovely host went the extra mile by offering us coffee as well. Her warmth and hospitality truly enhanced our stay!
What stood out most was their honesty and integrity. After we checked out, my little one realized he had left his Christmas family money in the room. We rushed back, worried, only to find that it was still there, untouched and waiting for him. That level of honesty is rare and so appreciated!
We’ll definitely stay here every time we visit San José. Thank you for such a wonderful experience—this place is a...
