Our family has been eating here for over a decade. But this place has been on a serious decline. The service has never been "good" but the food made it worth it. But today was the last straw. I was served a ROTTEN baby beef. Like rotten, green gray and smelly steak. We are tired of having to play russian roulette every time we come to see who will get a bad dish. Its never a consistent experience. But 3 of the 5 dishes were bad. The carpaccio was nasty, the hamburger was also stinky with bad meat. And my steak was absolutely ROTTEN. I took one bite and spit it out. And people are definitely noticing because that could only explain why the place was completely empty at 1:30pm. And I am no vulture to pay for rotten food. And when we complained the staff just said "sorry we didn't satisfy you" Really? Could have poisoned us but were the ones that are wrong. And on top of that to not complain because if not the restaurant owner will fire the waiters.... what awful administration!!! I don't know if they had issues with the refrigeration system but refused to take the losses of bad meat.
We are no longer coming...
Read moreLa Cascada is a standout restaurant, offering the best steak I’ve ever tasted and exceptional service that is both attentive and efficient. The staff truly elevates the dining experience, ensuring every guest feels well cared for.

The use of small, separate containers for side dishes feels more suited to fast food and takes away from the otherwise sophisticated experience. The mashed potatoes, though flavorful, were over-processed—almost as if they had been blended too much—resulting in a texture that lacked the proper consistency.
The beans were delicious with a great texture, though they were overly salty. However, the ripe plantains were perfectly cooked and an absolute highlight of the meal.
While the service and main dishes shine, enhancing the presentation and perfecting side dish preparation would bring La Cascada closer...
Read moreThis is one of the most signature steakhouse in San Jose area and we have visited several times before it’s remodeling The food used to be decent with a nice services and fair price , however after this recent visit I am surprised with the appetizer price .. here is an example , each sausage costs 6 dollar and 10 dollar for 5 slice of onion rings …. I don’t mind paying the money for the quality but I didn’t find anything amazing during the appertained course The main course is boring and didn’t feel the heat from a decent steak , in fact since the aircondition was so strong , perhaps they should heat up the plates so it maintains the flavor of the steak longer With so many competitions in Escazú area now , they should try to level up their game especially after shutting down for so long and trying tp make their...
