I wanna say customer service is not a priority for businesses in Costa Rica, however good customer service does exist just not at this Starbucks. I am a long time customer and fan of Starbucks. I studied the founders of Starbucks and I share the same leadership views as they do. Therefore I have always supported the business.
Now, let’s talk review. I was the only person at the counter and about 3 Starbucks reps behind the counter. Service from the cashier was slow. Did not acknowledge or say hello. Not only that, but she failed to inform me that she was going to charge me $2 for regular milk. I didn’t get anything fancy. 2 tall (small) americanos with cream. Cost $10. Since when does an americano cost $5 each. And unless you are asking for fancy milk or extra milk once should not be charged for regular milk in your coffee. Anyhow, I blame management in this case. Being a newbie to the area I didn't pay attention to the price until I left the store and looked to see I was charged 30,000 colones (approx $56 us dollars) I even went back in immediately and asked if it was a mistake and they told me 30,000 was the correct price. I looked up the same mug on Amazon and it goes for 1/2 that price. Now I know the Starbucks name carries it's own cachet, but really?? I hope to hear from Starbucks management about this. Please tell me you are actually selling these for that price and I will eat my words (which is about all I can afford after this crazy...
