Alma Santa Cocina Latina — Restaurant in Sardinal

I went to this place for the view at sunset with my wife. I had read the other bad reviews and was curious what would happen. We arrived when they opened. It is rainy season so very quiet. The waiter gave us the drink menu and the menu for the special multi course fixed menu special, without showing us the regular menu option. We had to ask to see that. So from the start he was trying to force us to the expensive fixed menu. After we ordered from the regular menu (and we each ordered drinks a starter and a main course) a different waiter/busboy brought bread. At the end I checked the bill and they charged us for bread we did not ask for. I expected it based on earlier review. They also do not include tax and service fee in menu price, so it does not show up until the credit card bill. And then they have a line for extra tip (yes I tipped another 10% on top). It is a shame that a beautiful location like that with nice food continues to act like a tourist trap and trick guests. They need to fix the management of the place. A reservation doesn’t guarantee you anything here! We arrived with a reservation for 7:30 Christmas Eve dinner only to be told after driving 45 minutes to get here, that they are full and the person taking the reservation (Mauricio Benitez) should have told us they were full. (We have a screenshot of all your conversations we had). As a business owner myself I would be embarrassed that people like this work for my restaurant. In addition the supervisor on duty did ZERO to help. Completely complacent and said there was nothing they could do and they didn’t have enough food. I wish I could give a zero star review. The food was good, although kinda pricey- but you’re paying for the status and ambiance of the place. The restaurant is beautiful, right on the beach. However, I’m giving it the 3 stars because our server gave us bread that we did not ask for and charged us for it. They also charged us more than the menu price for bottled water. Did not like feeling like they were being sneaky and trying to rack up our bill. He also put the bread on my daughters bill, maybe thinking she wouldn’t notice or say anything?
