The staff here were friendly and the service overall seemed attentive, plus I liked the fun table games. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
As a vegetarian, I ordered the tofu salad, but was served a chicken salad instead. Mistakes happen, so I calmly pointed it out and made sure to mention I was allergic to chicken, to ensure they didn’t just remove the chicken and re-plate the same dish. They understood and brought me another salad.
However, as I was eating, I suddenly bit into a piece of chicken again. I nearly vomited and had to run to the bathroom. I ended up feeling sick for hours afterward which ruined the rest of my day/evening.
While the staff tried to offer me ice cream as an apology (which honestly didn’t make sense given how nauseous I was as if ice cream cures an allergic reaction?), what really shocked me was that they still charged us full price. I asked for at least a discount on the salad, and they honored it. I asked again if they just replated the same original salad and they claimed they had no idea how the chicken got in there. Idk something about their practices is not adding up and extremely dangerous should I have needed to gone to the hospital.
I genuinely appreciate good service and understand accidents happen, but serving chicken twice after being told about an allergy is unacceptable. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place for vegetarians or anyone with dietary restrictions due to the carelessness. My partner ordered the vegetable fried rice and it was pretty bland.

Read more1 scoop of ice cream cost me 3.2$ USD !!! What a ripoff and luck of honesty !
If I could give 0 stars I would !!! Do yourself a favour and stay away from this place !!! Today I ordered 1 scoop of ice cream in the front window. The price was unbelievable high - 1400 colones. The young guy who served me charged me USD 3.2 $ because I didn’t have any colones. That is extremely high exchange rate. I gave him 4$ and got only 200 colones back !!! After I realized that I was taken advantage of I went back to ask why he only gave me 200 colones. Long story short, he gave me another 200 colones saying that he made a mistake !?! Really ??? A mistake ??? What a ripoff that place is. There’s a nice ice cream place in Pueblito Norte, just across the street where the ice cream costs only 850 colones....
Read moreWe were AMAZED by the food here. We enjoyed the Tuna tower, fried tofu with rice, beef pad Thai, tuna poke bowl, and orange chicken. All were delicious; ingredients were very fresh. My husband even said it was the best orange chicken he had ever had - not too much breaded, crispy and nicely flavored. Our server was also very attentive and often checked in. Prices were reasonable considering it’s in a high traffic tourist area.
Also, one tip for tourists (at least from the US) visiting here is that the pace in Costa Rica is not anywhere near as fast as the US’s. We had to wait forever at other restaurants. And so we just have to reset expectations and know that it’s normal to wait over 30 mins to get our food. This restaurant was fast relative to some other places we...
