I ordered a latte and was handed a cappuccino. When I politely asked the woman to fix it by adding the milk that should be in the cup, she argued and insisted, “This is how we make lattes.” Zero stars for not knowing the difference between a cappuccino and a latte—and for choosing to argue instead of just fixing the drink. To make matters worse, the milk was burned from being overheated. Yikes. I’ve been in the coffee industry in both the USA and Jamaica for decades. I know what a proper latte tastes like. Sadly, the staff here does not. Maybe they didn’t want to fix the drink, or maybe they’re just genuinely clueless. Either way, skip this place. And while the outdoor chairs made from native hardwood are beautiful to look at, they’re incredibly uncomfortable. So forget about enjoying your morning cup in peace. Head up the road to Guayoyo, where the drinks are done right and your back won’t suffer for it.

A Must-Visit Café in Playa Del Coco! After a long six-hour flight, we held off on eating just so we could experience Java Coffee Co., having heard exceptional things from travelers around the world—and it did not disappoint! The mozzarella pesto tomato panini was absolutely mouthwatering, with fresh ingredients and the perfect balance of flavors. Pairing it with their iced coffee was exactly what we needed to cool down and reset. Every bite and sip made it clear why this café has such a strong reputation. Beyond the food, the setting is stunning—relaxed, inviting, and just a block away from the azure waters of Coco Beach. Whether you're stopping by for a quick caffeine fix or a leisurely bite, Java Coffee Co. is a must-visit in Playa Del Coco. Highly recommended!

This place is just awesome it's cool and has alot of options plus air conditioning, we were on vacation near Playas del Coco and were craving for some good coffee looked up local shops and found this gem, we ordered 2 ice coffees and a panini for both and it just hit the spot for what we were looking for. The price was good didn't feel it was overpriced and the quality of the drinks and food were awesome plus they have a small plate with fruits and that just made our order even more worth the money. If you want coffee hot or cold come here it does not disappoint.

As a person who is both vegan and gluten-free, as well as a foreigner who was visiting Playas del Coco for a summer school experience abroad, Java Coffee was a fantastic option when I just needed a bite to eat between classes. They serve a wide variety of breakfast dishes, juices and smoothies, salads and sandwiches, and more. The staff were polite and respectful, and were well versed in English, which was super helpful for a non-Spanish speaker like myself. The only thing I would mention that was a downside to the service was how long the orders took to be prepared. I would sometimes be waiting more than twenty minutes just to get a smoothie, which wasn’t helpful for someone who was often on a time crunch. Other than that, Java was a place where many of us students gathered, and a place where many memories were made!...
