The 3 stars are for the staff and taste. But for the lack of lobster I would have to give it 1 star.
The staff were all outstanding. The taste of the food was excellent except for the minimal taste and quantity of lobster.
I would recommend that anyone ordering lobster in Costa Rica,, especially on the Pacific coast, ask to see the lobster before ordering. Since 2015 Costa Rica has participated in the Aquatics Resource Areas ban on commercial lobster fishing during March 1, 2023 to April 9 and then June 1 – August 21. Being from the states, I am used to lobster rolls and tacos containing 95% lobster with minimal dressing. At the Lobster Co. these contained 90% dressing and 10% lobster bits (and I'm being generous on the lobster). Low and behold, they delivered on the taste as well. As if that wasn't enough, the owner and chef personally delivered our dinner and honestly turned my whole day around to see a kind face and some hot food. We are on our 2nd experience tonight and just finished our dinner within about 5 minutes of sitting down. Lovely lovely lovely. Had the fish sandwich, ahi salad, shrimp tacos, lobster tacos, and of course the fries cause why not? If you dont give them a shot, I will say it is a terrible mistake. Nicolas (chef) and his brother (cant remember his name) are wonderful...
Read moreOur first gastronomic experience of Tamarindo could hardly have been better! The proprietors clearly know cuisine, delivering so much flavour and texture where a fast food approach would have been adequate. The fish tacos made with strips of seared tuna were a symphony of taste and texture, seasoned as they were with bright and hot sauces and complemented with crunchy potato strings! The hot roll toasted baguette undergirded a generous dose of real lobster seasoned with garlic butter and parsley and again crunched with delicately plunged crispy spud strings. Salads were prepared to order and the Tamarindo sauce elevated the experience to art. This is a superb eatery, folks. C'est cuisine...
