We were told about this place by a lovely couple on the bus, en route to our resort in Cuba. They insisted we try the pizza and the pasta-make a reservation they said-and we were not disappointed. A rich marinara sauce with quality cheese, and the crust was perfect, the basil super fresh. I brought a bottle of Pinot noir with me from Ontario, and we were charged a small corking fee. We ordered the rigatoni bolognese for take away. Oh I took it away alright! We were set to fly out the next morning at 11am, so the night before I put the pasta in the fridge. All packed up and ready to fly back to Canada, I cradled that pasta under my arm like a baby. At the first security check point in Cuba, I thought I was going to be told to toss it, but we made it! Passed through the scanner and I was on my way! Once in the terminal I grabbed two cold cans of coke to keep the pasta chilled. Up and away, we arrived in Canada a short three hours later-the pasta was still chill!!! I declared that I was in possession of a mango from Cuba and my beloved pasta. No problem! Canada border guards were pleasant and said "enjoy"! As you can see from the photos, I reheated and enjoyed the bolognese in my own dining room! How cool is that!?! It was still al dente, and I only needed a touch of olive oil. (My 5 year old son actually started dancing when he tried it!) Nonna Tina is a wonderful memory of Cuba, and we felt like family dining with you! We will spread the word here in Canada, and we will definitely be back!...
Read moreOkay so ever since I’ve been traveling in Cuba I never had huge expectations about food but in some point Cuban people are just so kind, friendly and humble it compensated somehow. This horrible place is exactly the opposite. I’ve never experienced someone intentionally being so rude and honestly evil against their customers. Food was okayish, owner is pretending like he invented the pizza. I mean everything about this place is just the average of the average but what makes this place the worst of all the restaurants I’ve been so far in this lovely country is owner is talking behind our backs, using horrible slangs and terrible words one should not, ever say to their customers in Italian and Spanish (like we don’t understand this at all). Worst of the worst, rude of the rudest. I’ve no words to explain how terrible this owner and staff. They literally made us feel like they were doing us a favor. I suggest this chef to go back his so called Italian roots and find out what really authenticity was and it is now. It’s certainly a no go. HORRIBLE PEOPLE, UNFRIENDLY BEHAVIOR, COCKY ATTITUDE TOWARDS THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR LITERALLY NO REASON. Not even adding their...

It is a small quaint little place. You have to walk down a walkway and go in the back
Sorry about the already eaten food in the pics it was that good we couldnt wait to eat
The food is so good and the value. Wow,
It was by far the best meal we ate in varadero.
For drinks, we got 1.5 liter of sangria it was so refreshing with lots of ice and fruit not to "winey," lol I also got a can of Coca-Cola
For our starter, we got the crostone al gogonzola was so good, very flavorful had a nice little crunch to it but still soft in the middle .
For our mains, we had to try the maccheroni "nona tina." Without bacon, it was a very well proportioned dish that came out with the right amount of heat. We obviously added more parmesan so tasty
We also shared the vegetariana pizza it was a thin crust and was cooked to perfection. added some chili oil as well to add a little more heat because we love spice
Thank you, Nonna Tina's it was an awesome experience. We will...
