Waco's Club — Restaurant in Cárdenas

I was recently in Varadero Cuba and a friend had told me of an awesome experience he had visiting this restaurant and that if I wanted a good experience and fantastic dinner, that I should Visit the Waco's Club. I had an absolutely fantastic experience, from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. We were greated at the door by a gentleman that spoke fantastic and English and was very polight. He was very accommodating and showed us to our seats even though we where early for our reservation. From there we where blown away with the exceptional service from our server Yariel. Not only was his English fantastic but his attendace to us was super and his attention to detail was fantastic. The food was also wonderful. Most people know that the food in Varadero isn't always the best, however the Waco's Club provided us with the BEST food we tasted all trip. It was a fantastic tasting meal with clearly fresh ingredients from the veggies to the meat, all cooked to perfection. After dinner we where treated to a roof top table where we had fresh cigars and great drinks. We where all so impressed with our experience that we asked to speak with the owner, Roberto, and thanked him for our wonderful evening. Highly recommend this establishment to anyone...

This lovely restaurant in Varadero's downtown was such a standout that we had to go back for a second time during our trip. Highly recommend for an intimate dinner with your loved one in a more upscale atmosphere than you'd expect in a touristy area. The food was outstanding. One of their speciality lobster dishes I would recommend is the Mornay lobster. The ribeye steak was enormous - meant to be shared for at least two people. The caramel flan was a wonderful finish to the meal (if you have room). The dishes were made with pride and attention to detail, as demonstrated by the taste and the beautiful plating. The food here was good. The restaraunt it's self is very clean and the presentation of good was wonderful. I found the service was lacking here quite a bit, especially for the prices paid. This is one of more expensive restaraunts in Varadero, I feel the service needed to be better. we would wait long times for drinks or anything we wanted to order maybe this was because we were on the patio, I'm not sure Again the good was good, but now I have had food at other restaurants in Varadero at the same caliber for a much better price. they have a few plates here for $40 something pesos and $35 I just thought the prices were a little steep for what you got . However it is a nice spot, I would return if I was in the neighborhood or one of my other regular...
