We visited Happy Jacks Pub with a group of seven, hoping for a fun karaoke night. Instead, we had one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had at a pub — all because of the owner’s aggressive and inappropriate behavior.
Right from the start, we saw the owner shouting at a group of kids just for accidentally dropping a pool ball. It felt unnecessarily hostile, especially in a supposed fun, casual setting.
Later, after waiting nearly 50 minutes to sing, our friend finally got on the mic. During the song, he hit a high note — nothing extreme, just typical karaoke enthusiasm — and suddenly, the owner stormed over, yelled at us, and ordered the DJ to cut off our microphone. When we asked why, he angrily said it was because our friend “shouted.” We tried to explain that this is a karaoke pub — people sing, sometimes loudly — and we even apologized in case the volume was too much. Instead of accepting it, the owner became even more confrontational, muttering angrily and giving us hostile looks from across the bar.
At that point, the atmosphere was ruined, and we told him we’d like to leave. He tried to pressure us to stay by offering us “10 more songs,” but the mood was already destroyed. We declined, saying we’d just like to pay and go.
When we asked for the owner’s name, he refused to tell us — just kept saying “Happy Jacks,” which is the name of the pub, not the person. Then, a man (possibly a friend of his) stepped in and aggressively grabbed my friend by the arm, along with the owner, trying to force him outside. My friend told them not to touch him, and that same man suddenly claimed to be a police officer, but given the situation and his attitude, it seemed more like intimidation than anything official. When asked again, he gave us the owner’s first name but claimed he didn’t know the last. Even a waitress quietly told us, “Don’t mind him, he’s always like this.” That says it all.
What’s worse is that other guests witnessed the entire thing. One of them, who turned out to be a friend of mine, told us later that the owner’s behavior had also ruined their night. She said it was a terrible experience and that they, too, decided to leave early. The aggressive vibe completely shifted the mood for the whole venue — you could feel it in the room.
This place is supposed to be a fun karaoke pub, but instead, it felt unsafe, unfriendly, and badly managed. We won’t be returning, and I strongly recommend others avoid it unless the ownership changes. No one should be treated like that in a place that claims to be about...

The drinks at Happy Jacks in Limassol Germasogia were okay, not the worst, but definitely not the best. The “dou dou” shot in particular was unpleasant and not something I’d recommend. Also, they charged 0.50€ for a small bowl of nuts, something most bars offer for free. Not a huge deal on its own, but it gives you an idea of how they treat customers.
Now to the main issue. I was doing karaoke and after waiting over 40 minutes for my turn, I shouted on the microphone for literally one second (which is quite normal during karaoke). Shockingly, the owner came and shut off my microphone, cutting me off completely and ruining the fun I was having with my friends. The whole vibe was destroyed.
When I went to complain and asked the owner for his name and he was giving me fake information, but I later found out that his real name. Why lie about your name unless you know you’re in the wrong?
While speaking with him, he grabbed my hand aggressively and hurt me, which is completely unacceptable behavior from anyone. He was also clearly smelling of alcohol, which might explain the erratic and unprofessional behavior.
Overall, the owner treats his customers horribly and has no respect for basic decency or hospitality. This is not how a bar should operate. Avoid this place at all costs....
Read moreSo I actually work in happy jacks, and I run the karaoke some nights. on the night that "PEW" left his review, I was not working I was there with my friend who was the DJ. Once said person started singing not only did they scream into the mic they also bank the mic on their table and were very disrespectful to the DJ when he asked them not to shout. The microphones are quite sensitive, and since I brought them, there have already been times when the speakers start to crackle. When Jack came around it was about 20 minutes of this table breaking the rules. We have clear rules for enjoyment of all customers and we do not tolerate negative reviews that were left for no reason. Happy Jack's is the only place in Limassol where the karaoke can be described by the following: Free Decent quality Daily All the other places either charge per song, or they charge a deposit for the table to come and even think about singing. So please, before you chat shit about our lovely bar,...
