Samo Limassol — Restaurant in Germasogeia

We visited Samo for breakfast with friends. The atmosphere was pleasant: bright and modern interior, clean tables, everything looked inviting. We ordered a variety of dishes to try the menu. For the kids, we got a bacon bagel — it looked appetizing with a nice crispy bun and generous filling. The kids really enjoyed it, and this dish was probably the best part of our visit.

The fried eggs were nicely presented, with a creamy yogurt sauce, herbs, and spices. The taste was balanced and interesting, and the presentation made it feel unique. My wife liked this dish a lot, and it felt like something thoughtful and well-prepared.

But the poached eggs with salmon were the biggest disappointment. I’m a big fan of poached eggs and usually order them in many places, so my expectations were high. Unfortunately, here they were almost fully cooked inside — as you can see in the photo, there was no runny yolk at all. The sauce also failed: instead of rich hollandaise, it tasted more like mayonnaise and didn’t match the dish. On top of that, the salmon portion was very small, making the whole plate feel incomplete. At 14€, it just wasn’t worth the price. For comparison, the fried eggs were 10€, which is more or less the usual price in places like this.

The latte also wasn’t impressive — it was bitter and left no pleasant aftertaste. For a breakfast place, that’s an important detail, and here it didn’t work.

Overall, Samo left us with mixed feelings. The interior is nice, the presentation is pretty, and both the bagel and fried eggs were enjoyable. But the main breakfast dish — the poached eggs with salmon — was a complete letdown, and that lowered the whole impression. Even though the prices are normal for the city, the quality felt much lower than expected. For me, Samo turned out to be a disappointment: it looks good, but the taste and execution don’t match. Samo is hands down one of the most impressive dining experiences Limassol has to offer. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a sense of warmth, style, and authenticity that sets the tone for the entire evening. Now, the food… simply outstanding. We have ordered seafood rizotto and a beef burger that conclude a celebration of creativity and fresh, high-quality ingredients. The flavors are balanced to perfection – bold yet refined. The seafood risotto is definitely Meditteranean in a dish. Their attention to detail is evident in every bite.

The staff, especially Raphael, deserve a special mention – attentive, polite, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They’re happy to recommend dishes, offer wine pairings, and make you feel right at home without ever being intrusive. Excellent service. 5/5.

Dear Management,

I used to love visiting your restaurant, not only because of its convenient location, but also because of the overall atmosphere and quality. However, one of your waiters consistently behaves rudely toward guests. While we had unfortunately grown accustomed to his impolite manner, today was the last straw.

I ordered a bottle of water, and it was brought to me already opened — which, as you know, goes against standard restaurant etiquette. I politely asked for a new, unopened bottle to be brought and opened in front of me. In response, a different waiter (not the one serving our table) came over, stared at me intensely, and opened the bottle in a deliberately provocative way, clearly trying to escalate the situation.

I would also like to emphasize that I am currently 39 weeks pregnant, and such behavior is not only unacceptable toward any customer, but especially inappropriate toward a pregnant woman.

I am reaching out to you because I believe this employee is damaging your reputation and driving away loyal guests. Several people I know have stopped coming for this very reason. I truly hope you will take this matter...
