Afitap Kebap — Restaurant in Girne Belediyesi

The restaurant left very mixed feelings. The food itself was excellent- truly the best Turkish cuisine we've ever tried and the best meal we've had in North Cyprus so far. What happened to us, unfortunately, felt very much like a tourist scam. We ordered 3 dishes, and got 4 plates of food (besides salad and 2 meze on the side). First we thought that something was split into different plates and started eating. Later on we asked the name of the dishes - apparently, we got tomato kebab that wans't in our order. Finally, the bill came. It had 1.5 portions of shashlik (without any warning, ofc) AND 1.5 portion of unordered tomato kebab. In the end, our bill was 85% higher than our original order. Btw, the waiter seemed very much aware of the extra billing and brought a free dessert for the kids. Nice touch, but still felt...

I went to this place, asked clearly what chicken dishes they have. The waitress (Nesli) said chicken shish, so I ordered that. What do they bring? Lamb shish. When I pointed it out, they had the nerve to claim I ordered lamb, complete rubbish.

This place can’t even get a simple order right, and instead of owning up to their mistake, they try to gaslight the customer. Totally unprofessional. Complete waste of time and money. If you want your order messed up and attitude on top of it, this is your place.

Never again. Avoid...

Dining at this restaurant was an absolute delight from start to finish. The staff exemplified professionalism and courtesy, setting a standard that other restaurants should aspire to. They checked on us regularly, ensuring impeccable service throughout. The food was expertly prepared and presented, with the kebabs standing out as some of the best I've ever tasted.
