The Old Grapevine Restaurant — Restaurant in Girne Belediyesi

Wow, just wow! Decided to treat ourselves to an evening out in Kyrenia and wanted to experience the more traditional and off piste eatery away from the harbour so found The Old Grapevine on Google Maps and it said it was 8 minutes from where we were having a drink. A lovely man heard we wanted to go here and said go straight, past three garages and it is hidden behind the last garage and he was right. Not on the road you could easily miss this goldmine of fun, food and friendly staff so be patient! Get a taxi to it or follow Google Maps and look out for the huge bunches of grapes on the wall next to the garage and follow that path! A lovely well stocked bar and cosy restaurant to eat inside or outside. It was a great place! An amazing menu with lots of choice and very good prices. I had Tornado Rossini and my husband had a local lamb dish called Osso Buco and both were delicious! I wish we were staying longer as it had so many of my favourite! Check out my photos for more...

This is by far the best and most delicious place we’ve been to — with healthy, wholesome food.The meat was incredibly tasty, and the tomato soup reminded us of a homemade meal.It was such a pleasure to finally enjoy something that felt like home cooking, paired with a glass of wine.

The atmosphere inside is very warm and welcoming: cozy interior, great music, and the staff are incredibly polite and friendly. We had dinner here twice, and we’ll definitely come back next time we’re in town!

So good! We honestly didn’t expect this - these were all things we make decently well at home but were put in our place by the skill of the chef here

liver & onion: liver was served at medium/ medium rare, and came on a bed of delightfully caramelised onions

Moussaka: the roux is the winner here - fluffy, all over the place, all at once, coating the gently baked veggies in lightly creamy blond sauce.

Pork chop: juicy.

Lemonade: homemade, they can mix it up with club soda. I liked the gentle taste...
