A table was booked and confirmed for 3 persons from the previous day but upon our arrival we were given an extremely small table barely ample for just two persons but definitely not appropriate if guests are planning to have the meze dishes because there is NO SPACE to place or try to balance the various dishes. We were genuinely squashed between three other larger tables, blocking the entrance into the closed off patio (whereas we had requested an indoor table upon making the reservation) and as clients were walking past our table they were almost knocking over whatever was balancing on our table, causing great anxiety and some discomfort. We explained that if they could not accommodate our reservation, we should have been told at the outset and could have chosen another tavern as we had a guest from abroad and would have wanted to give a better impression of our Cypriot hospitality. The portions were OK_ish, the salad was very expensive for the portion we were given, but furthermore when we sent back the seftalia because they were undercooked and the meat within was still raw and an extreme health hazard to be eaten in that state, we were given some silly excuses by a non-cypriot waiter, underestimating our intelligence, as if we do not know our own local food and how it...

Booked at the last minute and the great service offered was impressive. The owner told us he would call us back if he had any cancelations, and he did. We were first sat in the smoking section (an ‘outdoor’ section entirely sealed with plastic sheets). As this would be horrible once people started smoking (and in Cyprus they are chimneys once they start) we asked to be moved. The staff moved heaven and earth to play Tetris with the tables to accommodate us even though they were full. This was well impressive and kind. Very respectful! We thankfully managed to sit inside the lovely retro decorated restaurant and ordered our meze. My wife ordered a vegetarian mushroom plate whilst the rest of us ordered traditional meze. What a feast! Lots of dips, entrees and meat options. The food came quite fast, but we managed to keep up. The mushroom plate was generous so we all tried some, and she also tried the vegetarian options too. The pork souvlakia were excellent. The spring roll like wrap was amazing. Is the second time I am visiting this tavern and it is hands down my favorite tavern in Nicosia! Their meze offers a large variety of dishes and what I especially like is that they have the usual meze dishes that you find in a typical tavern but they also have dishes that many taverns do not offer. The service is unbelievably fast (too fast in my opinion I would prefer if it is was a bit more chill). Do not miss the hallumi with tomato jam and pistachio, is TOP. Also best zucchini balls in my opinion, rich filled with feta. Mushroom pasta surprised me positively as it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Great variety of meat dishes as well (loved the chicken thighs and sheftalia). Their desserts are a MUST. I recommend the galaktoboureko, the pistachio cheesecake and the vanilla ice cream.
